| I do not agree with what happened, let me just say that. But a ways up, someone pointed out feather plucking on a bird. I have a feather picker. He's very loved and very well cared for. But he likes to pull the feathers from a dime sized patch on his neck. I tried everything- new toys, new food, different food, foraging, out of cage time, ointments, sprays, feather oils- literally everything. That certainly does not constitute abuse.

I don't titer and don't think it is reliable enough to waste my money on it. I also do not have the option in my state where there is no medical exemption. So even the dog with the 5 generic problems including the two brain problems had his rabies shot recently. I don't put a tag on their collars becuase my state deems a current rabies certificate to be the only proof of current rabies vaccination. I guess you think I give "unnecessary" vaccines since I also gave rabies shots to my seniors. That's ok with me, because I disagree with you, and my vets disagree with you, and the science that is accepted as evidenced-based is what my vets follow.

Well on that same show a different day my mouth actually dropped open - a caller was calling in about his mature intact 7ish year old male that was get this DRIPPING BLOOD out of his penis at various times of the day. The owner had not gone to the VET!!! Who the hell does this????? My mouth dropped open not at the caller but at the vets measured response. I thought that vet would at least say come on Man ANY time you see blood it is not GOOD get to a vet. Of course in a much more gentle way he came around to tell that guy you should get him to a vet... He talked about BPH etc and the importance of getting this checked out. I have seen an 12+ month old Berner obvious double hip dysplasia limping around a park and the frigging OWNERS thought there was something wrong but had not been to a VET!! I have seen more bunny hopping toy breeds that I can not care to recall walking around the streets here - I bite my lips and move on... I have seen dogs with obvious eye problems elbows and hip problems and btw many are NOT purebreds. Most folks when they get a dog spend not one whit of time thinking about what they would do - should do = can afford to do with a dog that comes up with health problems. Is it like a TV throw it out when it gets sick? How much is too much to spend on drastic health interventions? What about quality of life and years left? How do you think about this. What are your decision criteria Well why should I expect humans to think of this when they don't for their human children????

| I try to be understanding. I try. But I work with dogs. I see horrifying things all the time. I worry for the dogs I care for. Not all of them, of course, but some. I am thankful my three dogs are with me. It's like the health problem brigade and I worry for what might happen to them if I wasn't their momma.

| Okay, titering is not allowed in Mississippi, and even if it was, would it apply to all 28 dogs (oldest 13, youngest adult 2, and 3 litters of puppies). Of course not. Rabies shots are the law here. Yes, there is a video. Go to my link on the general forum titled "Sick and Disgusted." There is a link that you must click on a computer (for some reason if you click it on your phone, the video doesn't appear). You have to answer a silly question, and then the story and video will appear. It doesn't show the "home" where these babies were kept, but it shows them after the rescue. They are pitiful. I could care less if this man is looney bin crazy, someone should have stepped in for the dogs. I know I am rambling, but if one can't find homes for his dogs and is stressed about it, why are there 3 litters of puppies? Why would one continue to breed their babies if their house is falling down? They said the ammonia smell was strong. Why, just why? |

| This is from the Humane Society of South Mississippi's Facebook page: "The Humane Society of South Mississippi has been inundated with calls and emails inquiring about the rescued Yorkies that are in our care. Currently, the dogs are being thoroughly evaluated, vaccinated, spayed/neutered, and groomed! Once their medical needs have been addressed, we will release their adoption availability date on our Facebook page (www.facebook.com/myhssm) and website (www.hssm.org). At this time, we estimate that they will be available for adoption in 1-2 weeks. The adoption of these dogs will be on a first-come, first-serve basis on this designated date, and we will NOT have a waiting list or allow any 'holds' on animals. We are working diligently to provide these dogs with the care that they need and deserve. Please be patient with us during this time and continue to visit our Facebook page and website frequently for updates regarding their status! Because HSSM receives no federal funding, we depend on the support of our community to be able to provide the highest quality care and services to the animals entrusted to us. Adding an additional 30 animals from this seizure into HSSM's care will place a significant strain on the organization's resources. If you would like to help, HSSM welcomes monetary donations. To make a donation toward the care of these rescued dogs, please visit: https://www.hssm.org/online-giving/" |

| In the video, the Yorkies look like they have atrophy, from being in the crate most of their lives. These precious rescues need a home that will work w/them, rehabilitate them. Not just someone wanting to adopt a cute Yorkie. Hope the shelter that's adopting them out will take serious considerations when finding their new forever homes.

| I so agree! Sounds like eating at Burger King. Next in line. Okay for food, not so much for living beings that depend on humans for their care. These babies have been horribly failed once -- it would be an absolute shame for them to suffer any longer. |
