I 100% agree with you. I work at a Kennel and training facility, and NOT ALL PITBULLS are bad, I wish people would educated themselves more, It is not the DOG's Fault if he/she is agressive, It is all in the Bloodlines, Breeding, Training and Home life! People really need to realize that I see it every single day. My Friend has two pittys and a rotti. The two girl pittys are dolls their so gentle and cuddly. and the rotti is such a cute guy, so adorable and funny, they would NEVER hurt someone or something. Most dogs who have good owners are like this. and ones who are not trained are the ones attacking, Dogs or any animal have to have a REASON to attack. Thats just how life is, Human are the same way! I wish the world would just get more educated on this matter instead of bashing or degrading a perfectly good breed! or animal for that matter. this is JMO because i have MUCH experience with this matter.
thank you for listening.

If want you say is true, then explain how did a pit bull that had a loving home, trained, grew up around childern and other dogs, and had never attacked anything before decide to jump thru my living room window and attempt to attack my family than turn on a policeman and a vet? IMO, I still think these dogs have a crazy gene in them.

Same question here. The pitt that attacked my pug had a loving home, grew up around children, has been around other dogs before, and even around my dog and family before. I had even let her in my house. Then out of no where she turned on my dog. There was no food or toys involved and the pitt wasn't even on her property. My pug is a very friendly dog and he got jumped by this animal. They have even attacked their own owners before. And I hear all the time, "It was such a nice dog, it had never been agressive before." Something just isn't right in their head and they seem to be set off by anything.

I'm so glad it is illegal to have them in our county. Once in awhile someone tries to bring one in, but they are quickly removed.

Im sorry, But NO not all pit bulls are mean what part of all this do you not understand its all in how their raised, People dont know what happens behind closed doors. Im not saying any of these families have mistreated these dogs or anything, but the fact of the matter is, People need to educate themselves on the breed or animal they are critizing because Its not fair and its prejudice, and just makes people look dumb on their part because they DON'T know the facts. If people actually sat down and read about the WHOLE history of this bread they and everyone else on this planet would understand. Im not saying all pit bulls are good either. there are bad ones out their just like ANY OTHER BREED!!!Because of Poor breeding, Bloodlines, Training, and their home lives!!!!As per other breeds!!people need to realize that, they get so caught up in what the media thinks of the matter and brain washing people into thinking certain things and forget that they can have their OWN opinion. Again this is JMO and im not critizing anyone. I work with dogs all day..and get to see all the different breeds out their, i get a better look out on things than most people. Because the truth of the matter is, some people Don't want to voice their opinion because their afraid of what might be said. Im sorry but this topic upsets me. No one cares to know the facts about these so called "dangerous, and horrible" dogs. Every single breed out their has those bad ones Just like Children!~ its all in how their raised!

thank you for letting me vent and voice my opinion. I mean dis-respect to anyone. Just please sit down and get all the facts straight.
thank you again~

I know how you feel when you say you're upset. I have been raised with them and the majority of my family owns them I think there are atleast 7 in my family and all of them have never showed any problems or inclanations that they might hurt someone or something and they have all been around for 2years+ I have never even heard them growl unless you are playing tug a war with their toys. Here is a pic of one of my kids with one

I think the biggest problem is how the media portays these dogs. It isnt just pitbulls who attack, all bigs dogs do. They just make them out to be such bad dogs generally and dont even comment on the owners. It may seem like pitbulls attack more, but the media shows what you want to see. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. We need to punish the owners, not the breed!

I have no problems with people who dont like them because of personal experiences, thats understandable.

Out of all the big dogs I have groomed, the worst dogs have been chows, german shepards and labs.

"Studies indicate that pit bull-type dogs were involved in approximately a third of human DBRF (i.e., dog bite related fatalities) reported during the 12-year period from 1981 through1992, and Rottweilers were responsible for about half of human DBRF reported during the 4 years from 1993 through 1996....[T]he data indicate that Rottweilers and pit bull-type dogs accounted for 67% of human DBRF in the United States between 1997 and 1998. It is extremely unlikely that they accounted for anywhere near 60% of dogs in the United States during that same period and, thus, there appears to be a breed-specific problem with fatalities." (Sacks JJ, Sinclair L, Gilchrist J, Golab GC, Lockwood R. Breeds of dogs involved in fatal human attacks in the United States between 1979 and 1998. JAVMA 2000;217:836-840.)

There are some numbers for you. The only ignorance I see is when a small dog ends up dead and neighbor's owner says, "My pit never could have done that, he's a sweetheart." It has the means to do it. There is a BIG difference between Canine homicides and dog bites. The media makes a big deal out of it because it is a big deal because it's what your neighbor is doing by letting one run loose. I feel so sorry in any neighborhood where people are scared to let their child play or their dog outside. I am so glad my neighbor doesn't pet sit for that pit anymore. I even told my husband that I didn't trust that dog, and then an hour later it gets in my yard and attacks my dog.

Well thats YOUR Opinion and there are tons and tons of studies and statistics out there. I do not ignore any Legitimate facts or studies when it comes to dogs. And again No one considered Their OWNERS or the way they were trained and their home lives! Im sorry but i have been bit MANY many times by dogs of ALL breeds, it all comes with training. Any dog can kill someone or something. Its ALL in it's History at home and everyday life people NEED to realize that. ANY breed can kill. Just like PEOPLE!!!!!!!

Again. There is a BIG difference between Canine homicides and dog bites. There have been cases where toy dogs have killed babies. But I haven't seen a case yet where a pack of yorkies or poms killed a grown person or a yorkie turning on someone and killing them.

My window was down and locked with the shades pulled. The dog must of heard Rocky bark. My BF just happend to just got home from the gun range and had his gun out to start cleaning. Well my BF shot the dog because he was protecting me and his 4 year daughter that was near the window. He did not kill the dog, but did wound it enough to make it stop in its tracks. The owner said that he had the dog for years and this was the first time he had done something like that. The courts declared the dog dangerous and ordered it to be put down after it turned on the vet and a police officer. I don't care how many people tell me that their pit bull are the sweatest thing that has walked this earth, I believe that there is something not right in their heads. I have heard of to many stories of these dogs attacking and killing animals and humans. I will never own one or be in someones home that does. I love and are not scared of dogs but I not very confortable around pit bulls.
OMG!!! That is SCARY and you guys were VERY lucky!
