				 | Thanks Thank you LadyJane. I will check them out. I am a new yorkie mom and just found this forum. Trying to read fast and furious. Never had a Yorkie before and oh my! She is a rescue approximately 1 year old and not house broke but we are working on it. |

				 | I think air drying is the answer. Of course, we have lots of it (sunny Italy, you know) but it sure kills the smell and stains |

				 | I rinse the pads with plain hot water, then soak them with Dawn dishwasher detergent for about 30 minutes, then hand wash. I sometimes use Arm & Hammer baking soda during the soaking process. Does everyone put their pads in their washing machine? I assume they're rinsed first. I got the pads from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They are in the bedding section and are about $12 each...don't forget your coupon. I purchased 5 of them. They air dry very quickly.

				 | I just put them in the washer. I see no need to prewash/rinse.

				 | I have been using the washable pads for years. I prefer a liquid detergent. I usually use Purex and I also use a little bleach. I usually wash 5 at a time in my large capacity washer. I use the white reclaimed hospital pads from Used Waterproof Pads.

I don't pre-rinse first. Just put them in the washer and run through the cycle twice. I now have two washing machines (one I use just for dog laundry and the other washer for my other laundry) but I didn't pre-rinse when I had only one washer. I feel like running the cycle twice gets everything clean enough.

				 | I started using a cap full of Dettol antiseptic liquid in the slot where I would normally put bleach with regular liquid detergent with the hot water setting. Something about putting potty pads in the washing machine just made me feel the antiseptic was necessary to kill germs. It's just in my head.. lol |

				 | I use unscented All detergent and Borax (equal parts depending on the size of the load). I also will include white vinegar if I think there is an odor on the pads.

				 | I am also recommending TBumpkins for pads. I have bought a lot of pads and now I prefer to use TBumpkins and working towards replacing all my other brands. TBumpkins make the highest quality pads available on the market (in my opinion).

				 | I first rinse mine with vinegar, my machine is big, I can do 5 or 6 at a time. I run the rinse cycle first with a cup and half of white vinegar . Than I run the regular warm wash/cold rinse cycle using Tyde , and dryer follows. Perfectly clean, fresh smell every time. If I notice they are starting to get dingy I do another rinse cycle using bleach, but that is done only about 4 times a year. Someone else mentioned rinsing before washing. It is always what made sense to me. Rinse, wash, dry... Every once in a while, rinse, wash, bleach rinse, dry. They last a loooooonnnnnngggggg time too. Xoxo

				 | Ann, I had the same problem for a while, then instead of adding distilled white vinager to the wash, (which i was doing)I started using it in the rinse instead, and havent had a problem since. (This also works great for stinky sweaty running/workout clothes with stank, lol) dont ask me how i know that, haha. I usually wash 10 at a time.and use one cup of vinger.

Dettol...I have nightmares about Dettol! As a kid, I decided to talk a short cut home from school through a demolished house lot, fell on the rubble and cut my knees up pretty bad on broken glass. I hobbled home and my Dad cleaned my knees with Dettol As to the potty pads, I rinse, wash with persil, and then do the final rinse with white vinegar. Works great & no smells.
