I rinse the pads with plain hot water, then soak them with Dawn dishwasher detergent for about 30 minutes, then hand wash. I sometimes use Arm & Hammer baking soda during the soaking process. Does everyone put their pads in their washing machine? I assume they're rinsed first.
I got the pads from Bed, Bath, and Beyond. They are in the bedding section and are about $12 each...don't forget your coupon. I purchased 5 of them. They air dry very quickly.
