So true, please search for the owner. You know if he is housetrained, someone has loved and cared for him. One of our dogs shy's away also and always has. We've had her since she was a 12 week old puppy so are 100% sure she has never been abused. | |

Mine shies away, too, even though I have had him from 7.5 weeks, and although he gets a bath every week, his face is crusty by the end of day one (sometimes within the hour). I would definitely look for an owner as he might have been a door dasher and got lost or something, but if no owner is found, I'm glad he found you!!! Good luck and post updates!

| My Zoey will only let me pick her up when she wants too. Some yorkies are like that. Thank you for taking this little guy in. If you can't keep him I am sure a rescue group will find a wonderful person for him. I hope all works out.

| So happy he found you and you are taking him in to check a chip scan. He could have gotten out of his home dashing out the door. Hope you can find his owners and if not, he seems to have made himself right at home with you.

| I hope he is just lost and not that someone rotated away from the base and just left him. I moved into a house in Copperas Cove many years ago where there was a dog in the back yard of a neighboring home. Several days later, someone let the dog out of the back yard to roam the streets. The house was empty since before I moved there. The owners apparently had moved and couldn't bear to put the dog down and figured a military family rotating in would move into that house quickly and get a new dog in the process, too. A neighbor took the dog...he was a sweetie. But, hopefully, that is not the case this time, and the Yorkie baby will be reunited with his owner. You are an absolute love for helping this little baby!

| It is wonderful that you are giving him shelter and care while looking for a possible owner. As others have said you can't judge solely on his appearance at this point. Yorkie's can turn into a hot mess in a short time when they are loose. While visiting at my daughter's, my Tiki chased a cat under the house, and when I finally got her out about 5 minutes later she was dirty, wet full of weeds and I could hardly recognize her. And my Karlee cowers and shys away when we try to pick her up, although she has had nothing but a 100% pampered life. Some family may be devastated and missing him, so please do the best you can to find the owners before jumping to conclusions and making plans for him. Again, thank you for caring for him and keeping him safe in the meantime.

| update well, I would have posted earlier but had an emergency.....not with the furbutts though. they scanned him for a chip and found none. we also looked for tattoos of any kind and found nothing. the vet said he is a little on the skinny side and he has fleas and a few little sore spots. They said other than that he seems to be pretty healthy. I have gone around to neighborhood and asked about a missing dog and nobody is missing him. Have also put ad in local paper here in Lampasas and put flyers up around town and businesses. Right now he is resting comfortably by my desk as I type this. He is a very sweet and loving little guy, its sad to see ppl do this to these babies. haven't figured out how to post pics yet plus have been busy. |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | Here's one "lost" ad. Seems your area has several lost Yorkies right now.

| How lucky this little guy found you and thank you for taking him in and to the vets to be scanned and checked. I am glad you are making the effort to find his owner as I would be frantic if Buster was missing.

| Bless you for picking him up and making sure he gets everything he needs. Poor little guy! I hope you find his owner. I would be sick if Hannah were to get away from me and someone kept her without trying to find me. These little devils can get away from us so quickly. Hannah also shys away from me when I go to pick her up and its because she wants to run and play and not be held. She is usually a mess 3 days after her bath and that is without going outside.
