				 | They may not of explained all that to her well enough. If she thought her pup was hurting really bad maybe she just wanted her to get help. I am what some consider elderly (not me myself as I am 59) and I know some ladies a lot older than me who could find themselves in the same type of situation. It breaks my heart thinking how she must of grieved after surrendering hers. We live on my husbands great pension but if something were to happen to him I am not sure I wouldn't find myself in the same boat, I pray not but we never know what life will throw at us. I to thought making her print a retraction was way over the top and put an even worse light on them.

				 | who knows what happened, and what they asked the OP to say, they might have simply said please retract your statement and nothing more, the OP might have said on her own I will let YT know that I am getting my dog back. There are often lots of dramatic posts here. Many of you are making the assumption they told her what to say, the OP has been on an emotional roller coaster and has just learned that she is getting her dog back and it seems like he will be having free surgery, if it was me I would be kissing the feet of the rescue people so maybe she feels the same and posted that way. You have to keep in mind the title of the thread was Save A Rescue is Stealing My Dog and it was stated they made a decision about the LP without taking it to the vet. Rescue groups such as this one rely solely on donations and volunteers to function, do you really think they want a thread on the largest yorkie web site that screams They Stole a Dog. Don't you think it is natural that they would want some type of retraction. All the talk about holding the dog hostage over the retraction is speculation in our minds, remember she was going to get the dog back before I spoke to the foster mom, only the foster mom had not been told yet. Yes we all can be in her shoes some day so I feel for her. I also read and remember the only other thread she made here, where she was looking to rehome a young puppy. About 6 people were desperately trying to connect with her but she did not answer a PM or repost on the thread, so something tells me she would probably not be posting here much, but of course I wish she would and I hope she does. I was not sure what to post after talking to the rescue gal and had only one or two people been on the thread I might have PM'd them but there was a bunch of people all up in arms about the rescue group stealing the puppy. I bet the rescue group makes some changes after this, like perhaps not putting a new pup on their website so quickly or publishing the name and phone numbers of the foster mom and had they communicated more with the OP she might never had started this thread in the first place.

				 | I hope the older lady who felt her dog was being kept from her despite her ability to now get it needed medical care and wanted it back wasn't made to say something she didn't truly volunteer to do to get her dog back and it's not a provisional kind of return - unless there is far more to the story concerning the dog's welfare we don't know about. If my Tibbe were being kept from me after surrendering him for care I was now somehow able to provide, I would probably be on here calling it stealing or worse because I'd be hysterical at that point. No, I'd be beyond hysterical. You'd think rescue, once they saw the dog could go back home and get care, would return the dog to its owner for the medical care and alert Animal Control if the welfare of the dog as to teeth, nutrition and cigarette smoke or other conditions were concerned and been done with it unless there are worse factors we don't know about. It was terribly good of the rescue to work out the terms they did with the vet. But that terse statement about the coming retraction seemed.......a little too leading and certain about the statement to come and the tone of the words it would contain and had a bit of an or else quality about it to me.

				 | [QUOTE=DBlain;4273660]Like me I know if this happened to you, you would be making a very loud fit. But I sort of know your style of posts and I bet like me if you found out you were getting the dog back and the surgery costs covered you would be falling all over yourself giving thanks and apologies and so would I. So that is why I am not going to make an assumption that the OP did not write from the heart. We have to keep in mind that rescue groups try their best to place pups in homes not take them away.[/QUOte I know the style of your posts and a few others, as you do mine...and I know the style of posts from the OP....OP did not write that retraction with her own words...I don't believe that for a second not one single bit.

But that terse and leading statement outlining what was about to come in the way of a retraction from a senior citizen of limited funds and stuck in a terrible Catch 22, did make me wonder if it were all that spontaneous a retraction. Otherwise, just graciously and patiently wait until your grateful client posts her voluntarily, heartfelt retraction and take your bows.

				 | The Foster MOM for Tiki I was the foster mom for Tiki. I heard about this site from Donna and decided to register to see what it was all about. What a DISAPPOINTMENT!!! People jumping to conclusions with NO facts! At least Donna went one step further to TRY to find out the whole story. Thank you Donna- SHAME on the rest of you! Although I did see few posts that did not fall for this fully. I have NO desire to be part of this site. I am saving my energy and time to actually rescue dogs that need help! Sad to see Tiki go, but I have another one coming. I wish more of you would redirect your energy to do something to actually help these dogs. |

I agree with Lynzy, stick around and learn more about this site, and let people know about the work you do. Yorkie Talk has many wonderful people involved in rescue, fostering, and helping Yorkies in need.

And on the same note, you're jumping to conclusions about this entire site based upon ONE thread - so you should understand how/why jumping to conclusions can happen to any human being. Take a breath and learn about us, as I'm sure we're interested in learning about you.
