| ![]() Unless it is AKC (no other letters), it is basically a paper registry and just about anybody can register any dog and claim they are purebred. The fact that she sent that pic of the parent, tells me that she honestly believes she has purebred yorkies. She isn't faking you out with pics of pure yorkies. She sent the real pic of the parent. That tells me that she is probably misinformed and not actually trying to fraud you. Your Minnie is part yorkie. I see that in her. So you have a yorkie...it's just mixed with something. As a matter of fact, I read recently about red legged yorkies (look into pics of those when you get a chance). There is a chance the parent's pic you showed is one. I'm not versed enough in them to know.

| ![]() I agree with Yorkietalkjilly. Dishonest breeders will switch litter registration slips around and they do it very easily. AKC is the only reputable organization to register dogs in the US but the registration is only as good as the breeder is reputable. This breeder appears to have royally ripped you off. Consider doing the DNA testing and reporting her to the AKC. After you get your DNA results either write or call her to let her know that you are aware of what she is doing and are going to report her. Someone as brazen as this probably will be prepared to fight you but don't back down. When people walk away from something like this it only encourages the disreputable breeder to continue doing this. There is a small chance that this could have been the result of an unplanned breeding with a Chi or Min Pin but a Yorkie breeder would certainly have known by the time she sold you that puppy that it was not a full bred Yorkie. I'm sorry this happened to you. There are all kinds out there The popularity of the Yorkie has caused a lot of greedy people to start breeding them. |

| ![]() Yeah, I didn't know if they were or not. I just knew their hair is coarse (or hard) and grows slow and sparse. Thought that parent's pic may have some characteristics of some I've seen (and some I just researched right now). From researching just now, I'm leaning more away from red legged and I see jack russel in the nose of this parent. (not in the pup but the parent) OP - just so you know some of the things I was looking at in my research on the red legged, it was these 2 threads: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...ed-yorkie.html http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/bre...ed-yorkie.html With all of that said - I still don't think the seller/breeder was trying to fraud you on purpose or would not have considered sending that pic of the parent. Everything is not always black and white.

| ![]() I have been told by several including my vet that Laddy is a redlegged yorkie but I was never sure either. Below is a picture of him as a pup and he still has redder more than gold on him other than his topnot. His fur is slow growing but he has plenty of it. He was 5 months around same age as the OP's pup in this picture. His ears grow very little hair also. Only need trimmed every 2 or 3 months and never need shaved.

| ![]() It is frustrating bring lied to and I feel dumb but in the end I have an amazing lol dog who we all love more then anything. However if the breeders are false I am going to try and do something because its just wrong what she's doing and steeling extra money from people is so selfish and its all illegal. I guess I'll know more when I take her to the vet we shall see. my Minnie is perfect to us no matter what she is. our family is complete ![]() |

| ![]() I'm still with the chorkie version, the eye coloring fits a yorkie and not a mini pinscher from what i can tell, compare on google images. Probably the breeders tried for a smaller dog and bred with the chihuahua. Then tried breeding back towards the yorkie maybe. The parent could also be a chorkie with chihuahua coloring but the ears don't stick up. When they cross breed, all the pups are a surprise. I suppose you didn't pay that much for the pup, did you? She's darling and less grooming for you. I'd keep her in a heart beat! Soo cute! And i bet she's smart! Regarding the breeder, you could write up a consumer report at the least, no? It'll be intersting to hear what your vet advises. Last edited by furrybaby; 03-11-2013 at 12:40 PM. |

Whether this person was trying to be deceitful and knowingly committed fraud by providing you with false statement on the registration paper or she truly believes that both parents are pure breed. Either way she is clearly mistaken and at fault. Can I ask where you got your pup from and if the breeder has a web site can you add the link?

| ![]() I honestly believe she's a chorkie. But I love her the same no matter what. I just messaged the breeder very kindly and let her know that I think something's not right here. So now I will have to wait Bd see what she has to say. I honestly at this point feel she lied to me she played the real sweet card but I just have this weird feeling sbd I'm usually pretty good with that kind of stuff but now it's just the waiting game to see whetrvshevgoes next with this situation |
