| ![]() Aww, she is adorable!! Her name really suits her!! No, I wouldn't say she is yorkie, has yorkie in her but not a purebred yorkie. She does look like a yorkie/chi mix. The picture you posted of the father/mother doesn't look like a yorkie at all. The hair type is wirey and muzzle is long, completely wrong for a yorkie. Google Australian terrier. That's what the parent looks like just with floppy ears. Or possibly a mix of yorkie. I don't think she will ever be fluffy, she would have been by now. But her hair may still grow to be a medium length coarse like hair. Unfortunately ACA is not a very reputable company and will register anything if given the money so I am not sure if they will do anything about it. Note that they say they register only purebreds. But if you look further, you will see that they will take a dog that is registered through ICA that is not purebred. So if you have a non purebred dog you want to register as ACA, you register it first with ICA and then ACA will register that dog. Kinda a big loophole, huh? Either the breeder deliberately lied to you or they too were lied to and went along with what they were told. Whatever Minnie may be mixed with, she is a real cutie and now has a great home where she will be very loved and spoiled!! I hope you'll continue to post pictures as she grows up.

| ![]() Of course you love your little dog! It is always the pups that are the innocent victims of greedy breeders. Of course you are a victim also. Taking on the breeder and getting your money back has nothing to do with how much you love your baby. The fact is the breeder knew by the time of sale that this was not a purebred puppy. Even Yorkies with sparse coats have fluffy fur by 4 weeks of age. You will not be required to return you puppy just because you try to do something about a dishonest breeder. She does owe you though. She should be stopped from doing this to others. |

| ![]() The more I'm constantly looking at pictures and looking into whst my baby girl might be I'm finding it hard to find a mix similar to what she looks like which is making this all so much more confusing. I talked to the breeder about my concern and she freaked out lol. She insisted she was purebred but obviously who would deny it knowing its illegal. I want to get nlood work done just to prove a point but I have no idea how much that cost. I mentiond to her that I was going to do it just so I know either way and she said if it turns out I'm wrong she wants Minnie back but she's def not going back either way she's crazy. If I'm wrong I told her my deepest apologies are in order abd if I'm right something is going to have to be done. She said she contacted aca and there's nothing I can do but I told her w blood work stating differently that her story isn't going to hold up. I'm sure she thinks I'm crazy but in the end it would stink to be wrong knowing I caused all this drama w her for nothing. I take her to the vet this week maybe they will give me more info. Does anyone know about blood work for dogs. Is it even worth it just to prove a point. Cuz in the end Minnie is our perfect lil lovr and is going nowhere but I would like to know what to tell people what she is even if she is purebred I'd like to feel 100% about telling people that not that I look dumb telling people and its clearly obvious she's not. Any more thoughts anyone?? |

2+2=4 X the Love ♥ Donating Member | ![]() Well that is what I would expect her to say. For her to deny that she did anything wrong would be an admitting guilt on her part and grounds for a possible law suit. It is so sad that this happens way too often and the breeder has no concern over being misleading or dishonest. It is quit disturbing. I would be a little more than upset if I got a mixed pup that I was led to believe was a purebred. I wouldn't love the pup any less, of course, but its not about the pup. This is about the breeder and her lack of concern that she may not have a purebred bitch who she is passing mixed breed pup off as purebred Yorkies. If is were me I would defiantly want to know. I'd be the one taking my dogs in for a DNA test for sure. Her lack of concern is to me very strange. Leads me to believe that she knows and just doesn't care. I wish I knew more about the DNA testing to help you, but I've never had a use for it. There are some who have been in your situation who had it done, but I cant remember who. I know in one instance the pup turned out being a mix. Not sure the cost or what happened after that with the breeder, sorry. If it were me I would stand my ground and get the proof I needed to confront her.

| ![]() Yes, it is to be expected for her to deny it. This is how they bully people into saying nothing. I don't know much about the registry she uses. Most outside of AKC are pretty useless but you could look into contacting them. I did a simple google search for "DNA kit for dogs" and many options came up. I read on web MD for pets that they generally start at $60. Some vets do it at their office so maybe your vet could help you or point you in the right direction. I saw that Amazon . com had some on their site. Read up on them and ask you vet then make a decison. Small claims court may be your best option. It is sickening that people like this are out there. Did you ask her why your puppy has a short coat? Has she produced the first short coated pure bred Yorkie in the history of the breed? |

| ![]() Yeah, DNA kits can run $60 to $100 ish. They used to sell them in the checkout line at Petsmart (I noticed because I'm always threatening Shelby-Dale that I'm gonna find out what he really is). I haven't seen them in the checkout line in almost a year though. They may have them somewhere in the store - not sure. Sadly, this happens a lot with any registry other than AKC. As I mentioned above, my Shelby-Dale came to me as a CKC registered Sheltie (a bi-black Sheltie). Well, if you look at pics of bi-black Shelties, you will see some of that in him (and he looks just like his Daddy, which I met both mother and father - they looked sheltie to me but not standard). Shelby-Dale is WAY bigger than either of his parents! His coloring is just like his Daddy's but his daddy probably weighed 20 to 25 lbs. My boy weighs a whopping 70 lbs!! A lot of people think he's border collie but his Daddy was definitely not border collie. However, he may have had some in him now that I know better. I just agree with everyone and say he's a border collie..but who really knows? I may do a DNA test one day just to answer the question but I dunno... lol

| ![]() The breeder said she's small her hair will grow. That's pretty much it. And she thought I was harassing her lol. When all I told her was I was concerned that her fluff was not coming in, and if I was to get blood work done whst happens if I'm right and she couldn't answer me. She said let her know when I have the results. Something isn't right but I just don't know how far I want to go to prove it to her. It's not about Minnie I told her that but I just need to know for sure either way then she said that's what paperwork is for and I told her anyone can make papers. Lol well c what the vet says when I go I guess |

| ![]() My daughter in law decided she wants a pup like mine so I went to see some puppies this morning that a friend of mine is selling. They don't have papers. The mother, my friend's dog, looks like a silky terrier. It was breed with a friend of their's smaller yorkie. Said it was a challenge to get them to tie but they did and had 7 puppies! The mother is about 9.5 inches tall and probably weighs 6-7 pounds. I noted that some of the puppies looked like chihuahuas and told her that I wondered if there where chihuahuas in the line? She said this is the 2nd and last litter with these two dogs(she doesn't like breeding) and the puppies with short hair(now 10 weeks) ended up with fur like the mother, who has less fur than the father!!!! I googled the silky terrier and wonder if your puppy looks like this? http://www.k9stud.com/PuppiesforSale...ier360899.aspx Maybe, there are silky terrier's in the blood line of your puppy which would give reason for the short scruff. BUT the picture of the adult you posted earlier, doesn't have coloring of a yorky, which is a mystery as to what it is? I think it's great you called the breeder and it will be interesting to know what the vet has to say and recommends you doing? Saying they'd force you to give it back is silly, you're not obligated in any way to give it back. The breeder is the one in hot water, not you. Typical behavior of a scam artists is to switch the blame onto the victim. Good for you for telling her anyone can make up papers! Last edited by furrybaby; 03-13-2013 at 10:50 AM. |

| ![]() Nope this picture is not a Full Blooded Yorkie. I am so sorry your breeder has lied to you. But you know what, your Minnie is just adorable, and I know you will love her.

| ![]() and look at this picture...doesn't it kind of have the fur of the adult you posted??? it's a chorkie Puppy Fever! « lauren colchamiro photography I think the puppy you have probably is a chorkie but may also have some silkie terrier in the mix. But because the parent you posted looks like a chorkie, I'd say it's that over the silkie terrier but maybe it's a mix of all three. Either way, it's adorable and a keeper. Chorkie's are just as expensive as a yorkie ;0) |

| ![]() When looking at the pics posted recently I def see silky terrior. Either way my husband and I decided today that we don't care what she is. We loved her from day one abd our love grows everyday more and more. My son absolutely adores her. She's truley a blessing to our family. She's so smart loving friendly she makes anyone that meets her fall completly in love with her. I contacted the breeder tonite and said pretty much the same thing to her. She then sent me more info on Minnie's parents. But either way informant matter anymore. Our family is complete with an amazing lil pup Minnie and in the end it doesn't matter what she is she's just Minnie to us ![]() ![]() |
