| You should start supplementing her food with other food (that you can get) until you can get a better dog food for her. She can eat rice, poached chicken (or canned chicken), an occasional egg, and many other human foods. They would even be good for her, and they should help her gain her weight back. Good luck! | That is just to much weight to lose at once. I would put her back on the food she likes untill you can get a better food. I would also see a vet. If you dont do something you might end up with a very sick Yorkie or worse, That is over half her body weight that she has lost. That does not sound good at all. I know if I lost over half my body weight I would not be in very good shape. |

| I am just amazed at some of the things people will jump in with out of the blue that are just CRAZY. Any one with a stem would know to take their baby to a vet if they had lost that much weight in the first place. What do these people expect to hear when we as yorkie lovers cannot believe what we are reading in the first place? She has lost 3 lbs and they haven't taken her to a vet. I find this hard to believe. If a yorkie were to lose 3 lbs it would be like losing an entire yorkie; and would be immediate cause for concern to any toy breed owner after the first pound and a half. |

Excuse me, but i was highly offended with the "Any one with a stem " part of your post. This is my first yorkie, There are NO BREEDERS or no other yorkie owners within 7 hours (possibly more) from here, I did my research, I read books and plenty of online reading, I asked the owner at the petshop (not in town) about them, and the vet (and she do get all her shots) before we got her, NO ONE told us anything about any of this. The last shot she had she was down to two lbs and they didnt say anything about weight issues. I posted a simple question on what i should give her so she could maintain a healthy weight and this is what I get. Not from everyone though, thanks to everyone that posted good helpful posts, its appriciated. She does like Cesars so we will be buying it for her ASAP, shes going to the vet in January (earliest we can get her in) and I'm pretty sure she likes boiled carrots so would that be good for her if she had some every now and then? | |

| Little Miss Cloe, I will more than happy to send you some good food if you trust me enough to give me your address. I am guessing I have met at least 100 people on this forum and you can ask them, I am pretty safe. If you pm me with your address I will send you some good stuff, probably Royal Canine. If you aren't comfortable with that, that is fine too. This is on me by the way. I don't expect you to pay or anything like that.

| I think it is wonderful you are doing what you can to help your yorkie baby, Just be sure she is eating , and when you get to the vets in January bring up your concerns again about her loosing and gaining so much weight . I 'm pretty shocked at how quickly adults are to jump do the throat of a well meaning obviously loving teenager , who just wants help . I do want to say in all of the teenagers post she was in my opinoin respectful , even when some of the so called helpful answers to her question were out right mean. Good luck to you and your baby , monitor her weight and until you are able to get her checked out , do make sure she is getting proper nutrition.

| I'm done here, honestly, I'm not in the mood for arguing with anyone. I will just try to re-contact the breeder and see what she has to say, and talk to the vet about getting some new food. Sorry, but i cant take great offence to the negative feedback I'm getting. I wish the best for you and your babies, but we're out. Bye |
