| I've raised dogs for over 30 years. Fact is a 5lb Yorkshire Terrier that loses 3lbs of his/her body weight would be dead or on deaths door period. 16 or not it doesn't take much common sense recognizing a near death dog. god bless you and your dog Last edited by schatzie; 12-17-2005 at 07:20 AM. |

| Little Miss, please try to find another vet willing to have a look at your girl sooner than your scheduled vet appointment. You can try some boiled chicken and rice, steamed veggies. In the meantime, feel free to contact me. I know of many reputable breeders on the East Coast of Canada who would certainly supply you with information on health issues, care, and suppliers of a Quality Healthy Food for your Yorkie who may deliver to your area on the Rock! Best Wishes

| Youve gotten some good advise on what to feed your little girl. I would make her the chicken and rice or get some LiL caesars from your grocery. I wouldnt worry about developing bad eating habits right now just concentrate on getting her weight back up. You can also get some quality kibbles on the internet. Good luck

| I hope your little girl is doing better today. That is a lot of weight loss, I would really try and find a food she likes. Some Yorkies are very picky eaters, Princess is one of them. YT is a big Yorkie Family, and we all like to help keep our Yorkies healthy. If you PM your address to me, I'll be happy to send some food out your way. Please keep us posted on how she is doing.

| Well..I guess this goes to show what the term "teacup" or "miniture" can do to a dog. Sounds like to me she intentially switched the food to get her back to a "fraile" size. If she has any good interest of heart for her dog...and theres isnt but two kinds of food....which im sorry is hard to believe considering i lived in a town of 500 ppl...SMALL TOWN.. and they had about 4 kinds of food to choose from. She must live in a tree...sorry but i find this digusting and disturbing. Put her back on the kibbles and bits..Its better than nothing.would you rather have a 5 pound dog or a dead dog???THAT is the question! |

I'm so sorry you felt "attacked"...there are many animals lovers on this site that see and hear of a lot of cruelty toward dogs...so we might be a little sensitive. You know your pup better than anyone else..and I'm sure..even at sixteen...you have good common sense. Look for signs that your pup is not "thriving"..does he play? Does he seem listless? Pick at his food? Losing weight? These are all signs that you need to see the Vet or change his food. Try mixing some of that "Kibble N Bits" into some canned food...like Ceasers (I'm not sure of the brands up there in Canada). The main thing is get his weight back up a bit...so he stays healthy. I KNOW you love him enough to do this... Most importantly..you need to talk to your Mom and get her involved regarding the health of your pup. If you don't know how to order on line...have your Mom do it. Good luck! Francie

What we have just witnessed is not a new occurence on this forum. I have seen it before.....I was even on the receiving end of such an attack. I never even got to defend myself....because I was immediately placed on suspension. At first I said the heck with this forum. Then I thought NO why would I let some really rude and stupid people run me off. I am older than dirt.....so the insults kinda bounced off me!! Even after this young lady explained herself re: her idenity...the attacks continued. It is absurd! I have a 16 year old son and he is NEVER allowed to reveal his true idenity on the internet on a forum such as this. NEVER!! If his father or myself discover he has broken the rules....then his internet access is denied. WHO else but a teenager would put 90210 as a zipcode!! It's probably the most famous zipcode in the world!! I'm sure this child is in a "pickle".....she must obey her parents. But she may be really worried about her dog. For Gosh sakes.....we are all sitting at a computer keyboard.....it is realy gutsey of some of you to make such judgements. Can't you just except the fact she asked for HELP? What the heck does it matter is it's a SCAM or not. What does it matter? You profess to love the Yorkie....and just maybe there's a Yorkie in need. Until you KNOW for a fact IMO it is inhumane for someone sitting a a mere keyboard to make that judgement call. I only hope this dog does not die...because we ran her away. Heck maybe she has parents who are not willing to help her....afterall didn't I just read about someone's HUSBAND on here that does not love his dogs.....didn't I. IMO....some of you should be ashamed of yourselves. I think you need to remember "do unto others as you would have them to do unto YOU!" Just my humble opinion.

| I see too often people pass judgement way too fast. They come off as rude and critical. I am sure at one point everyone has had a down moment and asked for advise. No one is a perfect saint. Let he who has not sinned throw the first stone. At least someone in the family loves the yorkie enough to come on this site. AND it is my husband who is not emotionally attached to the dogs. He used to be and all I can do is hope he will be again. Does he hit them? NO. Does he deny them vet care? NO. I take care of my dogs and my I, my son, the neighbors and the rest of the family give them enough attention as 10 people would. Last edited by cheryl000; 12-17-2005 at 03:21 PM. |
