Bengi is lost! - careless hotel housekeeper caused it!!! need your HELP!

I fear this also, which is why I would rather stay in a hotel, but if they collect the fee, they should alert the housekeeping staff! Did you put a do not disturb sign on your knob? I always to that and also tell the front desk to double make sure that housekeeping doesn't go in.

I know, I know... I always put the do not disturb sign but this time with the toddler and the baby in the room I needed some help tiding up a little, so I decided to put him in the bathroom and put the sign... big mistake... I will always regret it. I just thought that with the sign and me telling her not to open it, it will be ok, but some people are just plain stupid. I mean, Bengi barks at any noise, so I'm sure she was aware he was there when she came in the room, I just don't know what the heck happened because when I confronted her afterwards, she told me her supervisor was the one who opened the door..., I just don't understand why ... and I'm waiting to hear from the security guys cause the housekeeper has to fill a report saying what happened and she hasn't done it yet...

I just broke a blood vessel in my brain when I read your last post! A little dog is missing and that woman hasn't done a detailed report of what happened yet? She cares so much she hasn't bothered to put pen to paper to file her official statement about the events surrounding a dog's getting out of the hotel on HER WATCH! I hope you know times and such at least of when she last saw him but to think that she hasn't even bothered and the hotel manager and P.R. manager haven't even insisted on seeing that report with a copy straight to you is beyond the pale!!! Have they even questioned her to see if there is some chance she is involved in his disappearance or done any type investigation? It doesn't sound like you are getting any more help or cooperation from this establishment than if you had lost a piece of costume jewelry or something! I'm astounded. I wouldn't stay in that place to save my life if I knew who they are.

I'm sorry to write this, but not being there in person to deal with those jerks makes a difference in the effort they put forth. Nothing like being in their face to make them make an effort.

Strange that the supervisor opened the door. The room door or the bathroom door? I thought putting him in the bathroom actually a good idea. The housekeeping staff are required to keep the room doors open while they work. You say Bengi barks at anything, so he would have barked when she opened the room door and knew there was a dog there. Perhaps then she asked the supervisor to open the bathroom door? Surely they would have thought to close the room door if not just for a second. I agree there is something fishy going on with this motel.

Oh, if true, that's encouraging. Has he called you and gotten lots of specifics about your Bengi? I'd want to talk to that person post haste. I'm so sorry that happened to your Bengi. I pray for that little one tonight and that he's being cared for. Don't give up hope. Getting his story out to that city is so important and a TV station or two could sure help if they would carry the story. God bless and stay as positive as you can!

I remember you and Benji and my heart aches for you! I just read through this entire thread, praying that I would get to the end and he was back with you. I will be praying that he is back with you soon. I don't live anywhere near the area, but will be checking on the internet for any found yorkies. I wish I could do more. I think that hotel should hire a pet detective and not wait to do that. I think you said he had a collar with tags? If he has been found, someone should have tried calling you by now. Did you have your area code also on the tag? I just feel so sick for you. I will be checking back often hoping to see a happy ending!
