A Micro chip is under the skin, not where you can see it. You said he has no Micro chip... Have you taken him to a vet so they can scan his body to see if he does? If he has a chip, his owners name and phone number will be available!

thank u all he is duing great..took him to verify if he was claim ..he is not microship or no one has claim wich i find strange .he is very playfull and cute..i took all great advice water help and pumpkin also..change hes diet to moist and meaty wich he seems to love ..so far still with me until his mama claim him .i feel bad to leave him on a shelter ..

yes kendra correct is already been done.,he has no microchip..i know is not visible thats why we took him..which i find hard to understand why he is not microchip.. looks like a spensive dog. plus very friendly and cute

Hey Viv, I'm glad you're helping out the little guy and trying to keep him comfortable. I just wanted to give you some advice on the food you're feeding him. I would upgrade it to at least Purina Proplan because the food you put him on while cheap tends to have additives and fillers that cause dry skin and irritation. If you want him to be healthy and go less frequently it's better to put him on a decent dog food. That's if you plan to keep the little guy if mamma doesn't claim him.

Sorry to disagree, I wouldn't give my dogs anything purina makes...go a little higher than that...Orijen, Acana, Fromm Blue Buffalo...there are many foods out there that are far better than Purina...JMO

There is a male yorkie lost in the jacksonville area named Nugget- it is posted on craigslist 10/23. Maybe this is him? Rather grey/silvery coat from the pictures.

I agree entirely that I would not feed my dog purina anything but if you can't afford blue, anything is better than puppy chow or beneful.

Yorkies and long haired nreeds frequently will get stool caught in their hair of their butts if not kept cut very short. I use a mustache trimmer to keep my yorkies shaved monthly.
But sometimes it just happens. Put the yorkie in the sinl and use the sprayer on the rectum with warm, not hot water until it softens up. Gently use a paper towel and help to pull it off. You can also at this time use an old rag and add some gentle shampoo to it and start to work the area loose. This needs to be done asap. His anus will be red and will hurt for a day or so afterwards. But cleaning the stool away will help.
