| Full-Time Workers Hi all, just an enquiry. Is there any members that work full time? If so what happens to your puppy / dog when you are out all day at work??? |

| I only work part time but we are lucky enough to own our own business and my 3 take turns going to work with mom. They enjoy getting ready in the mornings and going in the car. Our trip just got a little longer because now I drop my son off at school, so they are happy campers!!

| I work full time and Brandi is fine. We get this question a lot and the way I normally respond is to suggest that if possible setup a webcam so you can monitor your furbaby from work. I did that the first few months I had Brandi. Based on what I saw I made adjustments accordingly. In fact that's how I figured out how she was getting out of her crate at the time.. Just a word of caution. I remember watching the webcam from work one day and I noticed I didn't see Brandi at all that day. At the time she had run of the upstairs and my webcam was setup in the office. Well I panicked and left work early because I thought something had happened to her. Needless to say she was there wagging her tail happy to see me. I had all these horrible thoughts going through my mind as I raced home. I thought she was either hurt, dead or someone had broke in and stole her. Now she has run of the house and I don't check the webcam as often any more because I know she sleeps most of the time. Here's a link to my webcam It's actually not setup but you can see what I am talking about. Every now and then she pops in. You may even see my cat. It's crooked and the webcam isn't in it's normal spot. Last edited by JMuedog; 09-04-2012 at 06:58 PM. Reason: removed link |

| My husband and I both work full time and Chloe does fine staying at home. I keep her in an x-pen, for her safety, with her food and water in it. She goes straight into her pen in the mornings while I'm getting ready for work without any encouragement. Originally, I went home at lunch and let her out for half an hour (fortunately it only takes me about 15 minutes to get home from work). But about the time she turned two, she started just looking at me like I was crazy when I'd come home at lunch and try to get her to go potty. I'd have to physically carry her out in the yard and then she'd go straight back to the door without doing anything, go back into her pen and curl up in her bed. So after a couple of months of that, I just gave up. I guess she's got a bladder of steel; she's never had an accident in her pen/on her potty pad during the day. I feel really weird about it but I can't make her go if she doesn't need to...*shrug* -C

Besides, websites record your ip addresses all the time. In many forums ip addresses are exposed all the time for any and everyone to see. | |

| I work full time. Up until recently though, there was always someone at the house because my DH worked a different shift or my kids were coming and going. Now DH and I are on the same shift and the girls have left home for college. Fortunately, I am only two blocks from work and I go home for lunch every day. DH has different days off and gets off earlier in the afternoon than I do. So the longest my dogs ever go is 4 hours on a couple of days but mostly it's about a 2 hour stretch alone and that's not too bad.

| We both work full time. DH leaves home after me and gets home first because he only travels half the distance I do to work. Brody and Mia are home alone...well, with the kitties...for a good chunk of the day and they do fine. They potty outdoors, but I have puddle pads set up in the house for those 'just in case' situations, and on occasion, I need to change a pad. They love to see us come home, and don't like being left at home, and try to guilt us when we go to leave when they cannot go, but I am relatively certain that they sleep most of the day. They have full run of the house all the time, but they were both two years old in March 2012. I had a Yorkie-Poo years ago and worked and he stayed home all day, too. I cannot recall him ever having an accident during the day, and I had no puddle pads at the time. Even my large dog, after he became afraid to be outside because lightning struck a tree next to the driveway he was standing in, never had an accident until he was a 'senior'...12 years old or so.

| I don't now but I did before. Doggy daycare is awesome! They get socialization, exercise, supervised, attended to, abd groomed if needed. Our daycare was awesome, everyone should be like this. http://www.itsallaboutthedogs.com/index.php

| My husband and I both work full-time. Although I work from home 3 days a week sometimes more. If I go into the office Georgie goes to Grandma's house. I think the x-pen is a great idea especially for puppies. Georgie is 7 so when we do leave him home here and there he has the run of the house.

| Oh how I wish we had something like the doggie daycare mentioned above...I think it would be so good for my dogs to go just to visit with other dogs and socilaize.

| Thank you everyone for your replies. The reason why I was asking is both myself and my fiance work full-time. I work 5 days a week and Ed does 3 days a week (12 hour shifts) with 2 days off. This happens every 4 weeks. We have Lola confined to one room only as we are in the process of house training her. Today was the first day leaving her alone and I was increasingly worried to how she would get on. As soon as I got in through the door (after 7pm) she was there to greet me by jumping up on me and running around in circles. I felt so at ease then. Could someone tell me what an x pen is? Maybe they are just sold in America alone. We have ordered a pen for Lola which should be with us in a few days. We will not keep her in it permanently, just for house training. |

| LW2912 | Lorex LIVE Wireless Video Monitoring System | Home Security Store. I started with this system to watch the dogs its awesome to use my phone to check on what's happening at home. Now we also use it fir a nanny cam and it is so inexpensive compared to a nanny cam system too. The kids love to use the intercom function.
