| ![]() Hi I work full time too. When I first got Milly I had 2 and a half weeks off with her so I could settle her in and get her trained to go on the pads. She's fully potty pad trained now at 5 and a half months. When I returned to work I got a dog sitter to come lunchtime and spend an hour with her. She used to be in a x-pen from 12 weeks up until she was 4 months old. I decided to record her on my laptop one day (which can only record upto about 1hr 30min) and when I played back she cried so much when I left to work & cried and barked continuously - broke my heart. Since then she has had full run of my place and she is the happiest girl ever. How do I know? because I installed a network camera and I watch her from work - she mostly naps all day and has little bouts of play time and no barking and crying. She watches me as I leave and she knows now that mummy is always going to come back. I still have the dog sitter come over lunchtime and I am hoping to wean her off the dog sitter by the time she is around 7 months old she is 5 and a half months old now. I was so worried she had separation anxiety when I saw her distressed as I was leaving when she was in the pen but it turns out she just didn't like being in the pen and wanted to be where she could smell me I guess...I hope this helps.
