| I'm so pissed! I was here on the computer minding my own business. My computer is in the kitchen. It's pretty warm today so, I had the door open for Mollie & Wyatt to come in and out the next thing I know Wyatt comes inside not really barking but just woofing at me and I see a strange dog in my backyard. I have seen this dog before running around out front, but this is the first time I've seen it in my backyard. Both dogs were in by this time. I immediately get a leash because if I can get close enough to him and earn his trust I was going to tie him to a tree and call animal control. But he was already gone. My blood is boiling. I don't know this dog and now I'm sure he is going to think that he can come and go as he please's. People are just so irresponsible I just have no words. He's not a very big dog. When I got out there I just looked at Sadie(our Choc Lab) and said why didn't you run that dog out of the yard. Which she may have by there was no barking. I know everyone on here will understand why I'm so upset. Not just the fact that he climbed my fence buy that he may or may not be vaccinated may or may not be a nice dog and he thinks he is going to climb my fence and eat my dog food. So if I see him again and I can get close enough to catch him without getting bit I will secure him and call animal control. Sorry for rambling. I knew if anyone would understand it would be you guys.

| If he was so sneaky about getting into your yard - maybe he snuck out of his own yard? I just wouldn't blame the dog, as long as he wasn't hurting anything. I would still call animal control, or somebody that could help locate the owner...

I don't blame the dog at all. It's his owners that I blame. I'm hoping that he got out of a fenced in yard and that he is just not allowed to wonder the streets but, I have seen him before. I just don't know wheter or not I can trust him around my babies.

| That's scary! Yes I agree, irresponsible owners! I just hope he didn't escape and gets hurt now! I'm so glad all of your babies are ok! |

| I completely agree. There is a bigger dog in our neighborhood that does the same thing. We will be in our yard with Zeus and that dog will come up and bother him. It isn't fair that Zeus can't play in his own yard without that dog coming over. I don't like it that their dog is allowed to wander the neighborhood.

| Sheila, I can understand why you are upset, but Biddy'sMom does have a point: Quote:
Oh, I left out yelling "GO HOME" at my neighbor's Weimaraner who had jumped his 8 foot fence again as I raced to catch my dog! Sheila = I really don't mean to make light of your problem. You are right. You have every right to expect that other dogs will stay OUT of your fenced yard. Finding the owners and talking to them would be a good place to start. Just be aware that "there may be more than meets the eye".

Donating YT 2000 Club Member | You have a right to be pissed! I let my Toto (my yorkie) out last year the day after Thanksgiving. A BIG dog got in my yard. Toto thinking he was a big dog went after him. The big dog broke his back. They tried to fix him. Done surgery but the Vet should had never done it. His back was to bad. He live 6 months after that with me diapering him and manully making him pee. I tried everyday to get him to walk. I finally put him down in June.

I am sorry for my lighthearted reply. In Ruby and Bacon's (the Weimaraner) defense, they never jumped INTO anyone else's yard - only OUT of their own.

| I COMPLETELY feel your pain! We have a huge problem with people's cats hanging around all the time...on the car, pooping on my porch, WALKING INTO MY LIVING ROOM!!! Gets my blood pressure up...I don't see how anyone can let their pet roam free on other people's property with a clear conscience. (sp?) The straw that broke the camel's back was when someone's kitty was snoozing on my car, I was trying to get in it and it bowed up and hissed at me. Excuse me?!?! I don't think so, not in MY yard!!! I invested in a live animal trap, put it in my yard, plain view and put a sign on it that said "This is a baited animal trap. Any cat found in it will be considered a stray and treated as such." Of course, I was bluffing, for the most part, but it seemed to do the trick...less cats roaming around! Wow...feels nice to vent in good company once in a while! |

| We have had the same problem in my neighborhood. My neighbor owns a bloodhound named Buster. He is not a mean dog. Really sweet, but he is big. And he roams around the neighborhood as he pleases with no leash. And poops in everyones yard. We called to the neighbors and complained plenty of times. Finally they got Buster in a fenced in yard. But, sometimes he still manages to sneak out. One day my dad let Lacey by accident. He did not close the door fast enough and Lacey darted out. She was really fast and she LOVED to go outside with a passion. And Buster happened to be in our yard at the exact same time. My mom and I had just about had a heart attack seing such a huge dog next to our little bitty 4-pound yorkie. Lacey used to be terrified of other dogs even other yorkies. But, she and Buster were sniffing each other and she showed no fear at all. Luckily, Buster never tried to hurt her, but we were scared to death. My mom also thought she may try to run off with him, so that had her worried as well. She just calmly said come here Lacey and she stayed. So, she just scooped her up and brought her back in the house. But, we really had a scare that day. |

| Roaming dogs are also a problem when you live in the country!! Alot of idiots that move to the country think that it's OK to let your dog roam anywhere because it's "the country". I had a nasty experience about 10 years ago. I had a little 6lb poodle and a 60lb shepherd mix and one night my shepherd mix was looking out my patio door (it was dark) and started to really get agitated, barking and pawing at the door. I turned on my spots out back and there were 2 BIG rottweilers on my deck snarling back through the door!! All I could think was what if I had put my dogs out and not seen them??? They could have both been killed in an instant!! I saw them a couple more times after that and tried to find out who owned them, but never did. I let most of my neighbors know that if I saw them again on my property my husband would shoot them. Needless to say that I was paranoid for months about letting my dogs out on my own property. I also got cornered riding my horse on a public road by 2 dobermans. The lady came out on her porch and said they wouldn't hurt me, however I had my doubts since they were showing teeth and growling!! My horse was freaking out trying to kick them! I could have been hurt and so could my horse!! She actually had the nerve to tell me that she would call the cops if my horse kicked one of her dogs!!! I told her to go ahead and call, she could use my cell phone if she wanted!! I was on a public road!! And I completely agree with whoever said that it wasn't the dog's fault, it's the stupid owners!! She couldn't get control of them for about 10 min. |
