| So glad delivery went well. Kittens are so adorable! Pick the kittens up a couple of times a day and just hold them and pet them for a couple of minutes. This will make them very tame as they get older. Some people think that you should not touch them when they are that young but that is not true. The earlier they get accustomed to the touch and feel of humans the better. Just stay very close to the mom so she does not get upset. If she trusts you she won't have a problem with it. For the first two to three weeks you won't need to do much else as the mom will do all the work. When they are old enough to start walking around you will need a small litter box. I usually use a cardboard box with the sides cut down at first so they can easily get in and out. Kittens are so easy to potty train! Best wishes on the new family |

| Mommy Annie and Babies are adorable! Pretty blue colors. I am so glad everyone is doing so well. You are so fab to take such good care of these little ones...and it sounds like your house is very much like mine. We thought for years there was a sign in the woods pointing them our way. It's like gracielove said...human interaction, touch, holding them a few times a day at first...massaging them like Annie will do. Cuddling...napping with them later when they're more mobile. Plus, you don't want to play/fight with them with your bare hands when they're kittens...use a fishing pole or dangling toy, string, laser pointer, etc., up to the end of their first year (forever homes, too). Let them do their play fighting with each other so they learn what hands are for...petting...and don't end up shredding yours. It's not just that the claws are sharp. You don't want them learning to play fight your bare hands because they may be less easy to pet if they learn early that hands play fight and don't understand how hard they're grabbing. Kittens are pretty easy compared to dogs, especially since Annie will teach them potty training anyway. I haven't had a litter of kittens in about 12 years, but the memories last a lifetime. You will have such fun with them. I hope you have better luck parting with them. I couldn't bear to give away the last two feral litters...too worried about their futures if I chose badly for them. Good luck, and thank you for the wonderful photos.

YT 2000 Club Member | Thank you to everyone for all the nice words, advice and suggestions, I appreciate it TONS!! Annie and her babies are doing so good. I started giving Annie some kitten food along with her adult food, doc said the kitten food is better for her while she's nursing cause the kittens take just about all she has from her, so, I went out yesterday and got a bunch of kitten food, and of course Annie LOVES it, lol!! I'm so glad Annie I brought Annie in the house when I did, as we woke up to SNOW this morning :-O I couldn't imagine her being outside with her babies on a day like today, they'd be so cold, I don't know if they'd make it or not. I know animals have babies in the wild all the time and make it, I guess I'm just an old softy and worry wart when it comes to the furkids.... Sigh.... I took a few pics of them this morning when I went in to feed Annie, and I held her babies for about a minute a piece. Annie is totally fine with me holding them, and she lets me move them out of the way while she gets all situated back in her bed and then I put them back up to her teets. She pures as if to say thank you Mommy. My hubby went in to check on her and the babies this morning and he told her after her babies were weaned, she'd be going in for surgery and then come back home to heal, and he hoped she didn't mind, but she was going to be an inside cat from now on cause Mommy just loves her to much to put her outside, I'd worry to much about her. She is such a good girl. We have three parcels of property here and our back yard is totally privacy fenced in, I've been thinking about building a big outdoor pen for her and our other cat Justice. I'd like to put plants and different level things and some lil sturdy fake trees and stuff in there for them, and have a top on it as well. This way they could go outside for a few during the day and enjoy some fresh air and be safe, and then I could bring them back in after a bit. Does this sound crazy? Annie was a stray cat, I don't know if she'd be stimulated and completely happy being in doors ALL the time, so I figured if I did this for them, they could enjoy the outdoors for a lil each day on nice days. I don't know what I'd ever do without furbabies in my life, they really bring so much into my heart and life. I already have a big pen built out in our back yard for our 3 turtles, I took a huge dog kennel (the heavy wire kind) and cut it in half, used the excess wire and burried it in the ground so they can't dig out and nothing can dig in and I laid a brick floor over top of it and then built the sides up with wooden planks and then filled it in with clean peat moss I bought from Lowes and then put a heavy wire gate and lock on it, then built a top to it so nothing can get in or out. I plant strawberry and tomato plant in there for them in the summer, they love it!! They have old hollowed out logs, big clay pots, a pound I built for them in there, big huge hosta plants that provide tons of shade, rocks and grassy areas. They really seem to thrive and enjoy it. In the fall when temps dip down below 50 at night, I bring them in and I have a 50 gallon tank I keep them in over the winter. It's like the pen I built them outside, just a lot smaller. I've love to do something like this for Annie and our other cat Justice.

| when we had kittens we would pick them up and try to get them used to us so they would e more tame and it would make the mother move the kittens around to new locations where they would e left alone. I also had 3 kittens pass away from that litter and there was only 1 kitten that made it. Then my other cat had kittens and there was no holding of the kittens untill they were 5 weeks old. The mother was less stressed and all the kittens made it which was wonderful a couple of them were super tiny. All of those kittens grew up to e sweet lovale tame cats. I would not handle the kittens very much at all while they are super young. I researched and read that on the internet also

| I used to have a fenced room for my cats. It was wood framed. It was about 11' X 12' and 6' high. It had an opening from the house and another outside door. I had a lilac tree in there and there was also a big shade tree near by. The cats love to have bushes and trees to hide out in and they attract things like butterflies and birds to watch. I have seen many cats around here that have lost whole litters to bad weather and predators. When I know a female is pregnant I try to tame them enough to get them to come inside to give birth but the wilder ones just won't come in. I have been spaying and neutering the population around here for several years now but it seems there is no end. It is much better now though. We did not have a litter of kittens first time in quite a while last year. The local private animal shelter has been giving me a good discount when I take the cats there for their surgeries. They do a really good job there, too. Those babies are going to be so much fun in a few weeks! |

| We have alot of cats in our neighorhood also. Some that have homes however they are indoor/outdoor, some outdoor and some strays. Our neighood assoc people catch them and take them to spay/neuter at our local spay/neuter clinic. We have different people that put out food for them. One guy on the street made an outdoor heated room they can go in the winter
