As for your original question regarding asking someone to sweep my answer to that would be yes it would be considered rude IMHO.

				 | I think it's YOUR responsibility to keep your puppy safe. I'd keep a crate or xpen with you or tether your puppy to your hip.

I for one, would not and do not take my pups to too many peoples houses. My pups, as are most Yorkies somewhat fragile. I had black labs and assortment of large dogs (rescues) throughout my life, I never ever had as many issues with all 25 of them as I have had with these two beauties. This will sound terrible but keep in mind I was a very young mother of two and the wife of someone who would bring any animal home whose owner thought it was easier to put them down then to care for...I once woke up to CJ the large Poodle sheepdog mix and 9 puppies, I didn't even know she was pregnant! Granted we only had her for 4 days when my ex rescued her, but not a single problem was had...I can go on and on, but lets just say we were NOT on a first name basis with our vets! Miss Mini and Miss Mia well are the million dollar pups! Not only am I on a first name basis with my vets but they are on speed dial and text 24/7! My point is that Yorkies and small dogs are in of themselves much different than a standard sized/large dog. 5 grapes to a large lab may be nothing, but to my Miss Mini was almost death...most people don't realize how different it is and the care involved with a wee yorkie. I know my pups get stressed, I know that only my vet, Uncle Keith and my friend Deb can care for my pets if they must be left behind. I mostly take them with me wherever I go as there are pet friendly hotels all over, that is when my husband and I travel together. We drive everywhere so as not to have to fly and stress them out. I usually go on mini vacations with my friends and hubby puppy sits. It works for us. If I can leave my pups home and go to visit someone and know I will be back that evening, they stay home. I don't have the need to bring them everywhere I go, but I do have the choice. I would never ever tell someone to clean their house or sweep their floor, my pups are my responsibility, they live with me and just as I wouldn't leave my children in the care of certain people I wouldn't leave my pups either. Oh last but not least, not everyone loves my pups the way I do, nor do I expect them too!!!!

				 | "servants" My father always told me, the first person I want you to introduce yourself to wherever you go to school or work is the cleaning person, know them by name and include them in every single social function you have in your school or office....I understand that now. I told my teacher that in 9th grade and every year after that he opened his first class of the year with a speech about that, at the final exam the first question was always what is the custodians first and last name? 10 pts. What is your lunch ladies first and last name? 10pts. Yesterday the custodian of our 25floor building was at the party I threw for one of my secretaries return from sick leave, he is one of my best friends...

				 | If it is family- I dont think it is really that rude. I think it depends on how you say it to be honest. Dh's Mom always makes sure everything is picked up, she will even get his food and water bowl out and put the baby gates up for him... My Mom will put the baby gate up and make sure her cats are in her bedroom, and she will get his toys out and food and water. I see no harm in calling them and saying something. Like I said it is all how you say it- " BF and I will be coming do you mind making sure nothing is on the floor.... or I can help you clean up... something like that.

				 | I agree it is all how you say it! My mom is soooo OCD and so clean, so i shouldn't have said anything because her place is always spotless and I asked with a little sass hehe. My parents love Ralph like a grand kid, so they love seeing him! (: |
