I think there is commotion over nothing really important here. So what the OP used the word servant. So what someone said there grandparents are racist. It didnt mean she was racist for saying it. Heck my grandparents were a little racist however they came from a different time than me. Why so politically correct?

ChaChi, because this is hardly the arena to allow any form of racism or bias..CARMEOW certainly isn't racist, thats not what I think anyone was alluding to.

I will say this, perhaps the topic wen't off topic, buts its always good to open discussion to help continue to educate anyone who may support this...My Brother In Law carried a gun at all times, was an admitted racist and fully supported a group that will remain unnamed who are well known for their beliefs that I refuse to align myself in any shape way or form, with.

I refused to let him into my home or attend any function where he would be, no he did not indulge on the topic all the time, but once was enough for me. On principle alone, I refused to have this man anywhere near my children. Sad but true, sometimes decisions have to be made based on principle. I have no regrets.

Yea however she didnt make a racist comment she just said her grandparents were racists. I just think its not good when we cant even say my grandparents were racists which was her perception of them. It isnt a reflection on her shes not a racist for saying it. Like I said were getting too politically correct if we cannot even mention anything involving race issues. Honestlly a yr or so ago someone just posted an article on a race issue and it was insinuated this girl was a racist for posting it and it was so out of whack

So the N word is nothing / not important???? Interesting. What does any of this racist talk have to do with Yorkies?????? It is inappropriate to post / repost comments like that on a public forum whether or not they are your views and should be discussed in a private conversation offline among your friends / families.

Advice ON TOPIC..NO NEGATIVITY HERE!!!

I only read part of this thread so I don't know if this approach was suggested, and maybe it's too late for the OP....but if I was going to be visiting someone's home I think it would be ok to tell them that certain foods like chocolate and raisins can seriously harm my baby and could they please make sure the family members know not to let any of that stuff get on the floor. I would tell them that she is like a one year old and I have to keep the house baby proofed and I would really appreciate it if they could take a look at their floors and stuff and make sure it would be safe for a baby. I would say that I hate to ask it of them, but that she finds the craziest things I never knew were on my floor and I know so many people who had outrageous vet bills because of stuff their dog ate. I think most people would understand if you put in the context of "babyproofing" and not "your house might be dirty."

My pup would NEVER accept a playpen and would probably leap herself out!

Yes, I think that would be a great way to remind someone of puppy-type behavior without making them feel like they are slobs. As we've all heard so many times before, "It's not what you say, but how you say it."
