Yorkie Talker | ![]() Good morning, I thought about all of the responses last night and I feel great this morning. , I feel so refresh. I will continue to try to convince my husband to get a pup in baby steps. My son saw me reading about yorkies last night. He told me that when he gets home from school he would take the pup out to potty. I was touched. ( Huggs and kisses). I must remember baby steps.. Baby steps.. |

| ![]() Tears worked for me. I would be on the computer for hours reading Yorkie Talk and looking at the pictures of everyone's Yorkies. My husband was TOTALLY against ANY indoor dog. I told him with the kids all gone I wanted a Yorkie more than anything. Something that I could sit, hold and love. Very reluctantly he gave in for our first Yorkie (Lexi), he and our oldest daughter went together and got our second Yorkie (Cricket). When a friend asked us to adopt her cousin's Yorkie (Festus Dillon) I knew that my husband would say that two were enough, but he said let's drive the 120 miles to look at Festus and we brought him home to live with us, too! My husband is now retired (from being a big old burly cop) and stays home all day with the furbabies. He kisses on them as much as I do. So again, the tears the first time around worked for me. They do demand a lot of love and attention, but they give back so much more! |

| ![]() I have noticed that men for the most part do love Yorkies. My own hard headed big dog loving family members have amazed me by saying that that don't usually like small dogs but they really like Gracie. We had to have a parade of contractors and repairmen here a few months ago and I could not believe my eyes and ears as they all would pick her up and hug her and let her kiss their faces and fuss over her! I think it has something to do with the terrier personality in them. They are so fun loving and are very head strong yet cute at the same time. It has been a very interesting experience for me to see men react to Gracie. I used to have a beautiful little Maltese. She was a wonderful pet but guys would see that white fur and never give her a chance. Of course she was not as forward as Gracie is. Gracie is going to make sure that they have every opportunity to get to know her. |

| ![]() Advise women to women. Take a nice shower, put on some nice make-up, shoulders up and hold your head up high. Walk to your man and tell him your getting a puppy. That you would love for him to help you search for one. I think this is something you really want and he needs to support you on that. Find a vet that have low cost vaccines and research all you can on potty training and grooming. Show him you have done your homework and it will not be a burden to him. Heck, take a shot of tequila if you need a little push to talk to him ![]() Like my friend say's your a "household engineer", you have your rights.

Wonderful! Say, you don't happen to know anyone with a Yorkie that you could puppysit for over a weekend, do you? It wouldn't be a permanent arrangement, and the 'melting' might not be much of a problem after. ![]()
