Tears worked for me. I would be on the computer for hours reading Yorkie Talk and looking at the pictures of everyone's Yorkies. My husband was TOTALLY against ANY indoor dog. I told him with the kids all gone I wanted a Yorkie more than anything. Something that I could sit, hold and love. Very reluctantly he gave in for our first Yorkie (Lexi), he and our oldest daughter went together and got our second Yorkie (Cricket). When a friend asked us to adopt her cousin's Yorkie (Festus Dillon) I knew that my husband would say that two were enough, but he said let's drive the 120 miles to look at Festus and we brought him home to live with us, too! My husband is now retired (from being a big old burly cop) and stays home all day with the furbabies. He kisses on them as much as I do. So again, the tears the first time around worked for me. They do demand a lot of love and attention, but they give back so much more!
