| She never goes out without me. Never. There will be times when I don't see them for a few weeks and then they'll be back again.

| We went out again at 4:30 and the hawk was sitting there again. I just couldn't believe it.

| Oh sorry I was commenting to another poster on here and my quote thingy didn't work...yeah totally on the leash is best. It just stinks to think a hawk could get your dog. I'm always afraid at night a raccoon will be n our yard when they go out to potty so I flick the light on and check first every time. Derik gets yelled at for just opening the door and letting them out without checking-he says I'm paranoid. I say it only takes once! Raccoons and hawks don't always run away from you either.

| We have hawks around here but the ones I have seen are not all that big. However, I have seen some huge owls out in the early morning. I'll never forget the morning I went out to start my car and get it warmed up and a shadow moved silently over my head. I looked up and saw a huge owl about to land on a tree limb a few yards in front of me. It was the biggest bird I have ever seen. It was broad daylight and this guy sat there staring at me like I was the one that did not belong there! I wonder if chicken farmers or others that have smaller live stock have ways of dealing with hawks and owls? I have heard some awful stories about owls flying down and trying to get small dogs that are being walked on leashes in the morning hours as well as before sunset. |

So far we have seen two cats, possum and a few other unidentified critters. The other night I heard the weirdest animal sound. I couldn't identify it but the closest I could come to was a strange owl noise. It didn't sound like anything I have ever heard before. It seems like the wild animals are moving in closer and closer.

I meant deer fencing to hang overhead it's more like super light weight but strong netting. It would totally look funky but do the job-in a small yard. We live in a typical yard to yard subdivision but someone a few blocks over has chickens, the raccoons, possums, rats, skunks etc come right out of the storm drain and into the yards. Stinking raccoon took out my garden last summer.

| I used to warn my husband about this and he would laugh at me. Until we we rented a house in the wine country and were hanging out in the backyard. We heard a noise, looked up and saw three large hawks circling Cooper. Glad your pup is okay!

| I had a terrible feeling that they would keep watching the yard since they saw my babies there once. What scares me is I feel maybe next time they will try to be quicker to get to them before I can react. Yes, I probably am paranoid.

| Jean, how very scary for you, Daisy and Teddy Bear. I am so glad that you were right there and that Daisy and Teddy Bear are ok. We won't even begin to think the "what if's". |
