It just stinks to think a hawk could get your dog.
I'm always afraid at night a raccoon will be n our yard when they go out to potty so I flick the light on and check first every time.

Derik gets yelled at for just opening the door and letting them out without checking-he says I'm paranoid.

I say it only takes once!
Raccoons and hawks don't always run away from you either.
My husband got us a really powerful flashlight that can light up all the way to the back of the yard. It is a really deep yard and I am always wondering what could be lurking in the shadows. After I scan the yard, I walk around following them close. Hubby told me the other night Teddy was nose to nose with some critter but he couldn't tell what it was. He said it looked like it was a baby something.

So far we have seen two cats, possum and a few other unidentified critters. The other night I heard the weirdest animal sound. I couldn't identify it but the closest I could come to was a strange owl noise. It didn't sound like anything I have ever heard before. It seems like the wild animals are moving in closer and closer.
