| I can NOT believe it!!!!!! I went to the ER with my dad tonight because he was very sick. Kaos came with me as always because he is my service dog and is ALWAYS by my side. He is licensed with the state and I carry his Dept of Health NYC ID and Tag at ALL times. After serveral explanations that hes a service dog to nurses/doctors/ and at least five security guards, that had NO knowledge of the law... they made me leave!!!! I am SO sick of being discriminated against because I'm a 21 year old verteran with PTSD and a 4lb service dog!!!! I'm sorry I needed to vent. It is so upsetting.

| I'm sorry this happened to you. I don't know what PTSD is, but still sorry you had to go through being made to leave with all your documents in order.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Is Kaos a service dog (task specific) or is he listed as an Emotional Support dog? My understanding is that hospitals (and even most businesses) can refuse ES animals, but not Service Dogs. But if that same dog is trained for certain specific tasks it can fall under both categories and then receive full protection of the ADA. The situation gets even more muddied if you go in to a VA hospital. There, the individual directors have discretion to whether they will allow even service dogs! I guess if you are run by the Feds you can ignore federal law. No matter what, it sure sounds like a very frustrating situation for you. I hope your dad is doing better.

| I would not think they would be able to ask you to do that as long as you have all your legal documents. However, I am not at all familar with laws that apply to service dogs though. Sorry this happened to you. |

| I'm sorry you had to go through this. I also have a 25 year old daughter with post traumatic stress disorder. She is also a veteran.

| I am so sorry these people aren't more educated. Do you plan on doing something about it? I'd hate to see them turn away another service dog. btw...Kaos is so adorable!

| Thank you. He is feeling a little better, turns out he has pneumonia. Honestly, there is no way to avoid this. It happens ALL of the time. Buses have refused to let me on, or have blown past me at a stop SO many times. I just can't get over the fact a hospital asked me to leave.

99% of the time they take one look at Kaos and give me the "your kidding he's a service dog face" any way.

| For buses, try putting Kaos in a purse-like carrier (Kwigy Bo looks just like a purse) so that the driver can see him until you are already on the bus. I would try talking to the agency/authorities that handle and license service dogs for suggestions on how to avoid problems. I would also carry something that shows you are a veteran. Hopefully people would show a veteran some respect.

I was actually wearing my old company's military police hoodie sweatshirt tonight...didn't help. I try not to encourage any one to tell me to put him in a bag, which they say like 85% of the time. It would interfer with his ability to react and respond to an anxiety attack or do any of his trained tasks.
