I am a new member of the "more than one yorkie" club. We got our girl Saturday so everything is new to us but I think it was the best decision. Harley and Paisley are still working things out but I am not worried. When no one is looking they have been known to be sleeping in the same bed. Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

So I spoke to our apartment complex about adding another member to our family. In order for us to have another dog we have to put down another $400 deposit and pay another $50 dollars a month for pet rent. We already put down a deposit for Gizmo and we pay the pet rent for him. We wanted him so we sucked it up and are paying it. But i think its crazy to ask someone to pay $800 in deposits! And $1200 a year for pet rent! ugh its so frustrating. We could do it financially but now i don't think we can because of our apartment complex outragous pet policy! We are moving out as soon as i finish nursing school with is in the next 1-2 years but its so frustrating knowing that the apartment complex is taking what should be my decision out of my hands. Very upset today....

| Are they identical...just tell ppl they are seeing double...I'm awful don't listen to me. I'm so sorry! Two small dogs are the equivalent to one medium IMHO which most apartments accept so I don't get it...

As I was shoveling the 5inches of ice/snow mix from my driveway today I was wondering why I bought a smaller house when my kids went away to college and didn't move into a condo where all the outside work is taken care of. Thanks for reminding me why! I like being able to do what I want on my own property.

Our apartment has a list of dog breeds that are not allowed including Rottweilers. All dogs have to be under 35 pounds. I completely understand the pet deposit but the pet rent is obsurd! I wouldn't pay extra if i had a child? Who's to say a child wouldnt cause as much damage if not more than a dog. A child can draw on the walls, throw up on the carpet... etc... My Gizmo has never done anything to damange this apartment. ( He has had a few accidents on the carpet but thats normal with a puppy) Other than that hes great and he stays in his exercise pen when im not home...

I was advised to get a boy because two girls would be fighting a lot to establish who is the alpha female and a boy would just go with the flow. I don't know about two girls, since I have the boy and girl, but it's true that my boy is laid back and has no problem with Nini being the alpha female as long as he gets his fair share of attention, hugs and kisses. Nini's okay with Nicky being the baby, though. She waits patiently for her turn to be pampered. Plus, I don't know why, she acts as if she's Nicky's mom some times. When Nicky's sick, she goes over and checks on him, gives him kisses and she puts up with his pranks and tantrums A LOT

I have 2 and love it. I would lvoe another one but not sure oif it would be fair to them cause I work and I am gone at least 8 hours. I feel bad for that. I got Josie for Jack when son informed he had set his wedding date. I knew when he left Jack would be alone during the day and I couldn't stand that. Josie and Jack are 4 months apart and get alone well. She is the Queen though. She rules and reigns (she thinks). LOL Potty pads oh yea one wants to tickle where the other has. It's my spot, no it is my spot, no it's my spot. I think that is the game they play when I am gone.

Two are definitely better than one. We got a sister for Bandit (they actually have the same parents, one litter apart) when he was 8 months old. They adore each other and keep each other company when we are away. He was fully trained for doing his business outdoors when we picked up Jinx and she copies him. Each time he goes out, she whines to join him...she will use the pad during the overnight hours though as her bladder is not yet big enough to hold it that long. It was tough to decide in the beginning whether to get the second one, but we have no regrets!

Today, my daughter and I went to meet a young little yorkie puppy. I am considering getting another yorkie, for Princess to have a small playmate. My heart says to get this sweet little puppy we met today. I want to bring Princess to meet this puppy before making the decision. I want to make sure they will get along and will become best buddies. This little puppy is about the same size and weight, Princess was when we brought her home last April. This little puppy is a boy. I was told he could be just slightly bigger/heavier than Princess, because he is a boy. Princess will probably enjoy having a little friend her own size to play and snuggle with. I can already picture them now, snuggling together in Princess's little bed. In many ways, I am trying to talk myself out of getting another little puppy. But I feel the strong urge to give Princess a little brother, her own size that she can become best friends with.
