| ![]() In Miami there are quite a few places... townhomes are the best ... and they charge a "cleaning fee" and limit to dogs under 20lbs. We also have several dog parks. I wish you luck.. and I am sure you will find the perfect place with effort.

| ![]() I totally agree with Lexi43. I see post all the time saying that they are having to move into a smaller place because of job cuts, etc and so they are having to rehome their pets. Rental Business's really need to start understanding the healing power of owning a pet. Sometimes the people who need them and their unconditional acceptance are those who are going through a rough time. I know that when I am having a bad day my Jillian jumps up and gives me a kiss and it seems to improve my attitude. I can count on one hand how many bad days I have had where my babies were not able to improve my outlook on the day. I think a pet deposit should clear it for people to have a pet in their place. If they are worried about fleas/ticks or damage then require the apartment to be inspected once a quarter or something. If you are a responsible pet owner then you are going to be doing things right anyway, inspection or not. More business's (not food stores) need to let animals in also. Okay I am getting off my soap box now ![]() ![]()

I totally agree with u maybe we need to start a potition or something! I love animals and im a very responsible person. They are apart of you and your life like kids and they cheer u up when u are down and when ur sick they are right by your side. All the dogs or cats i had they knew when i was sick and they never left myside. They dont ask for much and they dont judge you or anyone. They love you for you as long as you treat them right and dont abuse them. They protect you also. I dont see what the big deal is with people not allowing animals in like dogs and cats. Its a shame look at this world know it has gone crazy and its getting worse every year!! ![]()

It punishes good pet owners, but it also protects the landlord. It sucks trying to find a place that allows them but we only have the crap pet owners to thank for it.

| ![]() If there is any way you could do it, I would seriously consider buying. This is an ideal time to buy if you have a job you can depend on. The interest rates and prices are making history they are so low! I am thinking of buying another home (something smaller) and then try to hold on to this one until prices move back up a bit. There is nothing like owning your own place -- especially when you are a pet owner. There are more responsibilities but also so many more freedoms! You may be plesantly surprised too -- most are finding they can buy a bigger place and pay less money than they are in rent! Just throwing the idea out there for you to think about. Everyone has a unique situation so it isn't the right answer for all. Good luck finding a place.

![]() That's pretty awkward. Are they going to charge me $15 a month for each kid I have too? ![]()

A dog is a commodity. It is not needed and not everyone has one. They can be destructive, which means they can cause problems. However, a child is a human. If they decided to charge for every child, the landlords and insurance companies can be sued for discriminating against families with children. But a dog is a thing, a piece of property when it comes to things like rentals. Lanlords can charge whatever they want, since they are the ones putting themselves at risk, so to speak, for allowing tenants to have such an unpredictable possession. (think loaded gun) Dogs bite, they can hurt people and destroy property. Now for us that actually spend time training and teaching our dogs how to behave in our homes, it sucks. We know we have well behaved dogs, but those that don't train and don't care ruin it for the rest of us. ![]()
