I personally wouldn't stay there if pets are not allowed. Seems it wouldn't be too difficult to find a pet friendly one.

| I see why now. It has been a long time since I stayed with the pups in a hotel. Things have really gotten expensive. What a shame. I was under the impression that the world was becoming more pet-friendly. I guess not.

| I've called hotels and said that we'd like to come and stay there and wondered if we could bring our 5 pound dog with us. I also mention that we will crate her when we are not in the room and that she is not a barker. I've had much success with this- hope you will too! Good luck.

| Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I've stayed at the Motel 6. Not very fancy, but at least my dog can stay there legally. Most dogs are free at the motel locations, and a 10 dollar fee for the studio locations. Motel 6 - Pet Friendly Motel

| I wouldn't sneak a dog into a room if you weren't going to be with them 24/7. I also go to La Quinta or even Motel 6 because of the Pet Friendly Policy. Even there we don't leave them alone for more than a few minutes.

| No Longer a Member | Holy cow $125 for a yorkie to stay in your room with you? That is insane! I personally wouldn't even stay at that hotel with or without a pet. Anyone that takes advantage of people like that is not worth the money they are charging. I hope you can find a pet friendly one that isn't as crazy as that. I think the rest of the world is getting more pet friendly, when I was in Milan a person came into a fancy restaurant that I was in with their Labrador mix. I was actually pretty upset about it since the meal wound up costing around 100 euro, it would have bugged me less had it been a yorkie/poodle/chi/anything small and easy to hide away. Milan kind of gave me the impression that dogs were more of a fashion statement than anything else, everywhere I looked there was a person with their dog. I loved it, until the dinner incident. Again, good luck! |

| YT 2000 Club Member | The majority of pet friendly hotels DO NOT charge this. I have stayed at many different chains and the most Ive had to pay was 25.00, generally its 10.00 per pet. However I have stayed at places that if you "snuck" your dog in and they found out they would automatically charge your card 150.00, (apparently their are very few people who read the hotel's fine print) which I have no problems with. You deserve to pay that if you were to get caught. They have pet friendly hotels for a reason....

| That's why I did it. They were charging something outrageous for one night in a pet friendly hotel. I didn't leave him alone anyway, nor would I ever. Even if I was to pay for him, I don't trust the housekeeping people. Besides, why bring him along if he isn't going to be with me?

| Motels such as Drury Inn (which is a great chain even without your dog) do not charge extra for your pets. There are numerous others that do not charge or charge minimally. No way would I patronize a chain that wants to penalize you for traveling with your furry family members for an outrageous sum of money. They claim it's because of the possibility of extra cleaning. I've seen some pretty nasty looking/acting skinkids that I'd charge plenty extra for, and they can make a whole lot more noise than a couple of little barks. Either way, sneaking a pet in, unfortunately, puts you in the wrong, no matter how you slice it. Gives management an awful lot of rights to use whatever remedies they might want. Personally, I don't like turning that kind of power over to anyone, when I don't know what the consequences are going to be.
