| ![]() But it would be unfair for him to be in a crate for hours with my mother too right? Again, trying to think what is best for him. I have two years to think on it. I will have a plan by then. |

| ![]() Selfish in what way Disney? Dogs do not long for things as we do- when Dani returns to bring him home he will be thrilled. The second he sees her walk into a room after that period of time he couldn't care less about leaving my home. Cody probably wouldn't let Dani out of his sight. At that moment if you could ask him if he wanted to go back with her or stay well...I could easily guess his answer. I'm so sure as I've seen this numerous times before. I train Service dogs as well. They are with me over a year before they return home and not one has looked back. |

| ![]() Jerk him around? There would be a trip down and a trip back. I don't see the jerking around. I would not be returning to Colorado for a visit for awhile yet. I have a business to run here. |

I ask question. Do you have any evidence to back up these claims about dogs and emotions? Studies? Statistics? If not then I don't think you should encourage this plan when you don't know the consequences it could have on Cody. Service dogs are trained then go to their forever home. It not same thing as switching dog from home to home like a wiffle ball.

| ![]() Two trips is not the issue. Issue is giving him two homes and yanking him to and fro them. It's cruel and I believe if another solution can be offered, this idea should be vetoed.

a) stays with Leo or b) goes with my mother I did see your point right up until you called this idea cruel. VomLeo is probably one of the few people I would trust with my dog because of the care he would receive. She has plenty of experience and I would support her caring for my dog 100% I think it would be cruel for him to be in the crate for hours and hours. That would be cruel. Like she said it would be one trip up, one trip back.

Taking him from a loving home then allowing him to adjust to another loving home for two years, which at that point will be half his life, then dragging him from the second loving home because you want him back is cruel. That is not what is best for Cody and it is selfish. Like you said, you have two years to come up with a better plan. I will bow out of this for now as I has said what I has to say and I will not get involved in a slinging match, my English isn't nearly good enough! ![]() I sincerely hope whatever plan you decide on, it is what is best for that adorable yorkie mutt! ![]()

| ![]() This idea is just that- an idea. Yes. I do. Mind you I am not a newbie at this. I've trained dogs for years. I think you put your heart into things and over analyze. Keep in mind Cody is not thinking like we are. Yes you can put that in bold as well if you like. He isn't. I have had a GSD bitch that went from WA to CA about 3 times a year for random lengths of stay. Usually for Schutzhund Trials. At the first few days of the trip as expected she was baffled. Then moved on. Do you plan to tell me that Cody will return to Dani with some sort of psychological problem? What harm do you believe will come to Cody as a result of this decision? If it happens. Sorry I'm a bit slow to respond. This laptop has a horrid lag. |

![]() Look I have stated my question a few times and I would appreciate an answer. You can keep telling me I'm wrong and think with my heart on my sleeve etc, but until you provide me with some scientific proof that there is no chance at all that this wouldn't be stressful for Cody and not just your opinion I will continue to encourage against this choice and deem in selfish. You're not actually providing me with something to prove I'm wrong other than you say so. Yes, but that was a regular occurrence. Your bitch wasn't accustomed to a home then completely taken away from it twice in her short life. With that attitude, I is sure Cody will get what he deserves. ![]()

| ![]() I'm sorry you have such a difficult decision to deal with. I hope in the time you have you are able to come up with a plan that suits both you and Cody best. On that note, I started out with Roxie being "temporary". Her previous owner (who is my future SIL) offered her to me when she suddenly had to move into an apartment building that did not allow pets. She said that once her and my brother were married and could get a house, they would take her back. I went along with it because I knew how upset SIL-to-be was about the whole thing. It didn't take her long (a few weeks) to see that Roxie was in good hands here with me, she loved us, and was happy here. Roxie is now MY dog, and SIL-to-be has no intentions of taking her back. She still gets to see her, but knows it would be bad for Roxie to take her back at this point. I have had Roxie for just over 8 months now, and I would be crushed if I had to give her back. Good luck with your decision!

| ![]() When you go to college can't you get an apartment near by the school that will allow dogs? Get a roommate if you have to to help with rent and utilities.

the good thing is you have that time to decide. Good luck with your school and I agree - if he isn't used to crates than it really isn't fair to him to keep him with your mom -
