If you missed my "Yorkies & College Students" post then you missed the fact that my little 'yorkiepoo' Cody would probably be needing a place to stay when I go off to college. Not that my mother or someone wouldn't be able to take care of him, but they are all very busy and without me Cody would not be as well taken care of as I would like him to be.

Sooo I was planning. Talked with my mom, and we both decided it would be best for him (when I am in college that is) to be placed with a VERY close friend in Florida. She is the best of the best as far as homes for him. I know Cody would receive nothing but the best care from her.

My mother would just be to busy, don't even ask about my dad and close relatives are really about my age or busy working like my mother.

Its hard knowing he would be so far away, but I know he will enjoy himself. He would be near the beach, he would be able to fly to Colorado mountains with her, he would receive one-on-one training, her business is ran from her home so he would be watched 24/7 and never confined to a crate unless they are traveling or it is absolutely necessary, and he would be loved just as much as I love him.

It would be painful to let him go, but I would have to remind myself it is only temporary and it is for the best.

Just had to share in my good news

P.S. I attached some photos of her boy (non-yorkie, obviously lol)
Oh! And only I and the owner have the rights to these photos. kthanx!
That's a very hard decision but you have time in the upcoming years to make a choice- he may end up very happy and when you finish your schooling you may find it's best to let him be in his new 'home' forever because you do sound like it's a good place for him ......so try to think of the now and make the other decision when you know more about your own life changes - you just may find he's in the best place and that your life will be such that maybe taking him back isn't a good idea -

the good thing is you have that time to decide. Good luck with your school and I agree - if he isn't used to crates than it really isn't fair to him to keep him with your mom -
