I did see your point right up until you called this idea cruel. VomLeo is probably one of the few people I would trust with my dog because of the care he would receive. She has plenty of experience and I would support her caring for my dog 100%
I think it would be cruel for him to be in the crate for hours and hours. That would be cruel.

The care he receives would not be cruel. That is not the cruel part.
Taking him from a loving home then allowing him to adjust to another loving home for two years, which at that point will be half his life, then dragging him from the second loving home because you want him back
is cruel. That is not what is best for Cody and it
is selfish.
Like you said, you have two years to come up with a better plan. I will bow out of this for now as I has said what I has to say and I will not get involved in a slinging match, my English isn't nearly good enough!
