| I'm convinced! I'm going to finally share this story with ya'll. Forgive me for the long post. I'm convinced to be EXTREMEMLY careful with my baby whenever she is on the ground anywhere outside our home. We walked out of our condo on Monday to go to our car and I let Cerise stop and go pee. I heard my neighbor's gate open from his condo behind me and suddenly Cerise growled and whined, at the same time a big serious growl came from behind me and when I turned to look a big chocolate Lab was charging towards Cerise and I quickly tried to scoop her up. The Lab was'nt charging to say hi either. It was seriously trying to attack her I couldn't pick her up because she was moving trying to hide between my legs so I snatched her up by the leash (remembering what I've read from so many post on YT) just as this Lab opened it's mouth to grab her. I had her in my arms and was blocking the Lab from getting her while the neighbor realize what was going on and ran to pull his dog off, then said he was sorry. My baby Cerise was so scared she was trembling and peed on me. My son was visiting me and was standing in shock (like me and Cerise) because it happened so fast, he couldn't believe it. Neither could I. He yelled "what the ____!" at the neighbor. This neighbor has two small dogs and recently he rescued this Lab from a shelter. Over a week ago two women in our condo community were outside telling him off because he constantly lets his dogs roam around without a leash and the Lab has some aggressive issues, and he lets the dogs crap everywhere without picking up behind them. Thank God she only wears a harness and I didn't use the Flexi leash that day, because she would have been still on the ground when I tried to pull her up. I was so shocked and upset that I just stood there speechless. My son came over and hugged us and said "good reflexes Mom"

Senior Yorkie Talker | Wow, I'm so sorry this happened to you!! I would've been absolutely terrified, you reacted very quickly in a very frightening situation, kudos to you on that. So glad your baby and you are ok. It's just so insane to me because labs are supposed to be so mellow and friendly, mine is. She wouldn't hurt a fly, yet I hear about labs that are agressive and wonder what has happened to them to turn them this way... Either way, that guy needs to take better control over his dogs for the safety of everyone involved, including his neighbors furbabies. It's just disrespectful and wrong to let your dogs run around unleashed in a complex of any sort, even in a neighborhood. Whats wrong with ppl today!

I don't understand ppl today either. They are careless and just don't use common sense! I know other neighbors have complained to the HOA for our condo and I think I should do the same. Small dogs are okay and there is a limit to how many (2) that we can have.

Senior Yorkie Talker | If i were you I'd definately file a complaint! Especially when the safety of your baby is in question. If he wants pets so bad the least he could do is look after them and be responsible for the benefit of everyone else living there. The more complaints filed the higher chance something will be done about it.

| Thank goodness you were able to save her. I'd record the date/time this happened in case there are future issues with his dog running loose/being aggressive. I'm sure allowing him to run loose isn't lawful where you live. So, therefore, you should record that info just in case the situation continues and you could contact animal control in the future if necessary.

| How scary! We had a Lab charge us over at my dad's house. They live out in the country where pretty much everybody's dog runs loose except for theirs. None of the dogs ever caused problems so we never worried about it. Well... this one neighbor a few homes down (only about 12 homes on the street) decides to get a Lab puppy. Well, now the dog is HUGE... yet still a puppy. They don't exercise him enough or train him. The husband always lets him loose.. well one day he knocked over my little brother and gave him a HUGE black eye. My dad was pissed and called Animal Control because they had asked to keep the dog inside before. So now the dog is usually tied up to a tree in their backyard, poor thing. I feel terrible for the dog. But he gets loose often. So one day I've got Jackson outside, on leash and harness, and he just comes charging out of nowhere... I don't even think he was really trying to be aggressive but he doesn't realize his weight at all. So I did the pulling him up with harness thing (which isn't so easy with a big boy like Jackson) and put him in my arms and then the Lab knocked ME over... grr. I was so pissed. I finally got him off of me and inside but it's a pain when ppl don't take care of their dogs.

| Well, there you go! You have an HOA. Just do your complaining by certified mail/receipt requested and keep a copy for your records!

He knocked you over with Jackson in your arms! I know you were pissed. How sad they keep him on a chain. That is now against the law in Austin.

That is so sad! I know Labs are sometimes so sweet but of course they don't know their own strength.
