Thank goodness you were able to save her. I'd record the date/time this happened in case there are future issues with his dog running loose/being aggressive. I'm sure allowing him to run loose isn't lawful where you live. So, therefore, you should record that info just in case the situation continues and you could contact animal control in the future if necessary.
