I must have missed a post somehwere that turned this breeder into a bad place? I thought you said this was a friend or something like that who sold a pup to someone else you know? Now suddenly this is a horrid place for a pup to be? You obviously knew this long ago.
FOr the dogs sake I sure hope this baby does not loose your love when he gets bigger than you expected, which happens a LOT more than them staying small.

It is really too bad this poster is not getting a very good response from everyone on YT. One wonders why she doesn't want to be here anymore.

Why can't everyone just give good advise on how to care for the puppy instead of scaring her off?

We YT oldies all know the rules on selling and raising yorkies but it doesn't stop the fact that a 6 week old puppy is going to a new home and the poster is asking for help to make it work.

HELLO YORKIETALK PEOPLE BE NICE FOR ONCE!

These type of posting scare people off and do no good in the long run.

NATNATT - good luck with your new baby and I hope you enjoy being a yorkie mom......

The only possible good advice anyone can give a person getting a pup this young is that it shouldn't be left alone......Plain and simple.

If people are blunt it's for one reason, the love of the pup.

I don't think anyone has been mean to this person. Giving her advice based on good solid experience and facts.

If you decide to leave YT, ignore all of us, and get the puppy anyway, then that is truly your loss. Perhaps someday you will come to realize what we are all trying to explain to you. Trust me, the reason why these members are so persistent is because they are so passionate about this! We have seen it occur time and time again! Why should an innocent puppy be forced to suffer because of its owner's ignorance?

Let's just hope that this poor baby survives.

I agree with Jeri. It is what it is and this puppy is arriving in 5 days regardless of what people are saying. Lets look in the interest of the puppy and give her the best advice on the care it is going to need. She seems to have someone looking after it while she is working. Advice on feeding and care is what is needed here. Best wishes NatNatt!

I agree with Jeri... The OP has decided to keep the pup, so now it up to us as a YT family to help guide her for the sake of the YORKIE puppy!!! Please let's try to help the pup...

As a beeder, the only possible advice for the good of this puppy has been given. The pup can't and shouldn't be left alone.....much too young. At this age the pup should be being fed a minimum of 5 meals a day, not left to it's own devices to feed itself. Too much of a risk. I'm home all day for a minimum of 12 weeks with my pups, making sure that they are eating well. Fresh food changed out constantly. If one pup misses a beat, it's being hand fed Goats Milk and Rice Cereal.....You can't let that set as it spoils......They miss one meal....and they are down for the count. If the food spoils, there is diarreah, dangerous for a pup this age.

Another thing to consider is this pups enviornment is being changed......Coccidia is a great possibility.....bloody diarreah......and with one this age it can be fatal. Am I trying to scare? YES.

You've bought your new puppy some really cute things, I know you are super excited, and it may seem like we are all coming down on you so hard, but you have to understand, we've read about this sort of thing so many times before. Before a puppy reaches two pounds their life seems so fragile, I mean one day they are fine and the next day they are gone, and it's really important to have an experienced person available who knows the signs of distress. I wouldn't be able to read those signs, I've never even seen a 6 week old yorkie, how are you going to read those signs, and how will you know what to do in the event of an emergency? Add to that is the fact you will be leaving him alone for long periods when no one can observe him.

The main thing I'm bothered about is the fact that the dog is taking a flight alone, this is terribly traumatizing for a puppy, and when dogs get nervous their blood sugar drops, which puts them at a very high risk for death. Larger breeds mature faster, and at 6 weeks they are much more stable. I know you love this puppy already, but please don't allow him to fly so young. How will you feel if he doesn't make it? You should always take the more cautious approach when you are responsible for a living being. There is not one person here who thinks flying a puppy that young is safe, please put your own needs aside, and show this puppy the love you have for it, by not allowing it to be flown this young.

Default Okay.........trying to help.........

Do you live close to where you work? Is there any way you can set up a webcam or something so you can keep an eye on the baby? Is there any chance you can take him with you for the first few weeks?

My puppies are 7 weeks old now and they cuddle up to sleep together. I've been putting juice bottles of hot water under the sides of their blankets on their bed to give them a spot that is warmer. I've also been giving them a bit of goat milk in with their water to make sure they are drinking enough. They have dry puppy food all the time and I give them softened kibble 3 or 4 times during the day. I don't know if it's good or not, but I give them a little bit of human babyfood (the meat) before they go to bed at night. They are still getting me up almost every night for a snack since Mom quit feeding them.

I wish you luck and hope you and your baby will do well.

I disagree with the first sentence of you response. I also bred Yorkies and Biewers and totally disagree with the way you are responding. Maybe a nice suggestion such as: Please watch for things like..... OR Can I warn you about.......would be the way to address this poster IF she even returns.....

Nancy,

I'm not sure where this pup is being flown from. But, if memory serves me correctly, I don't think airlines will fly a pup at this young age, because of the danger of losing it while in flight.

Great post, and this is what I meant by the puppy showing signs of distress.

No, it's not legal, but they are doing it anyway.
