| ![]() Hi Gen and dedicated followers to Cookie. I know I'm a new person (lurking for a little over a week) and my opinions hold no credibility currently. I read every page of this thread last night, cried and held my 16 week old Yorkie (Bartleby) extra tight, but not too tight. I'm not suggesting this necessarily, but perhaps an idea might come from what I'm thinking. So, if the girl lives in an apartment complex, and if they are anything like the many I have lived in throughout my life, they have a pet policy. I doubt this person with the chihuahua would put down an additional deposit or even notify the apartment manager that she has a new pet. It is my experience that management may enter a home to make sure the residents are not in violation of their lease if they suspect anything. An unauthorized pet would be a violation. Those are my thoughts, and I will refrain from making any direct recommendations. Unfortunately, I don't know how apartments are in Florida as far as their policies. I just wanted to offer any help I could. Cookie was the first thing on my mind this morning, and I want nothing more than to see this sweet baby back home. My heart goes out to you Gen. All my love, Jenny |

| ![]() I so feel your pain. My yorkies were stolen 3 years ago out of our RV. Please be so careful when people start calling you for the reward. Most of them are scams and you can police involved to arrest those people. May be someone wants your ransom and I advise you to pay it only when you are sure the dog is your cookie. I am praying for a miracle for you. If Cookie was chipped it is a law now to scan at vets offices and not release the dog if info doesn't match. I wish you the best! |

| ![]() Hi Gen I dont know if you know the story about Jane and her 3 stolen pomeranians. its a very sad story too. I had posted a tread about it on Yt not long after it happened. anyway she to offered a large reward and some one had tricked her and took her reward money. the story is on her myspace. I have talked to her on the phone and by email and you can hear the pain heartache in her voice. I once thought I found her babies on craigs list someone had dropped off 3 poms at a shelter and posted about them the picture of the dogs were the same color of hers. I turned the info over to Jane but sadly they wasent her babies. but I always keep my eyes open for them. while telling her about the poms by phone my Hubby could hear her from across the room saying OMG OMG .......It broke my heart that they turned out to not be hers. heres her myspace page telling her story about it. hopefully she will get her babies back. maybe while everyone has their eyes and ears open for cookie they can also think of these 3 missing poms and Jane. Now that's a thought...Only I thought that apt managers are to notify the resident prior to entering. This would tip off this girl to hide any additional dogs that are not listed on the lease.

| ![]() I have had maintenance enter my dwelling without my permission before as well as management. I wish Gen could talk to the management about the resident and and possible dog(s) she might have. If it could be found that the woman had an unauthorized pet, Yorkie, who, if it turned out to be Cookie, was stolen(or insert a better word), she could get a look at him and call for a police officer. Trust would have to be established initially with management for this to work... I guess it just really depends on how the lead is going at this point, and how willing the management staff are within their legal bounds. I'm playing out a million different possible ideas and scenarios in my head, and I hope this makes sense and/or gets everyone's mind working a bit for a possible idea to verify the Yorkie as Cookie... or not. |
