I hope this does not sound too mad to you but there is a pet detective on TV in the UK and she says if you have an idea where your dog is you should scent mark the area for your baby so they know that you are near. She suggest your urine in a bottle and mark the area with this, so maybe you could try this on the area you think she may take the dog out to potty!! If it is Cookie he will know your smell and may react to it when out.

Has anyone heard from Gen to see how today went?

Me too! So I finally decided to post.

I'm going to go light a candle for Cookie.

She had some word from her friend but I think whatever is going to happen may happen over the weekend. I'm not trying to over-dramatize this but the circumstances are expected to be right for a showdown. I really hope this is him. Unless there's a flood of the little ones in her area I don't see how it couldn't be him given what she's told us.

I am doing the same that way I will be updated if any news comes of this. I can hardly stand it. Hang in there Cookie your Mama is a fighter. :animal36

LOL!! It's tough on me too and I'll be at a funeral in Canada tomorrow and may miss the whole thing.

Oh boy!!! I certainly hope she gets her baby back. It has to be him, it just has to be!!! Godspeed Gen. Bless you for being so strong. Poor Cookie he is caught in the middle and he just wants to go home with his family. How could anyone just find a dog and not try to return it??? It just blows my mind.

I am so outraged!!!!! To think if someone steals a gun, car, even a pocket knife and you suspect of its whereabouts, the law stands behind you, and it doesn't matter how it came into your pocession. BUT if its your furbaby (something much like a child) that depends on you for its care and love, you have to apparently have enough PROOF or get into a confortation with someone before they will get involved!!!!!! My goodness she has his chip number, how much would it take for the law to pick up a scanner or take animal control to go and scan the dog in question, and it keeps everyone safe. Animal owners (at least I know I wouldn't) be offended to let them in to scan my animals. But then again I own mine!! If these people will steal or hide an animal they know is not theirs, would they care who they hurt??? Don't think so!!! This thread has really opened my eyes as to keeping my guys safer, the steps to take if the unthinkable happens, the rights of animal owners and how much help our shelters need. I hope this all works out for her, and Cookie is soon on his way home. I just pray it's not another let down for Gen, she has already been through so much with everyone acting so guilty and for reasons unknow to us. May God take control of this situation and keep everyone safe and the many, many prayers answered to have Gen and Cookie reunited. Sharon P.S. Just in case all doesn't go well, my husband has just suggested we all chip in a few dollars to make bail for Gen and her husband!!!! LOL

I put this thread through on my blackberry so when there is a new post I get the alert and hold my breath. praying as I scroll down that I see COOKIE IS HOME!!!!! I KNOW IT WILL HAPPEN!!!!!!!!

I'm sure most of us feel the same but you have to have more proof than there is right now. There's someone who was told something by the people that have the dog and that's not enough to go Big Brother style by the police and demand to see the dog. Someone took something from me, I know who it was, and they denied it. That doesn't give me the right to go further. I had to drop it. Gen has to be able to see the dog in full view, with a witness, then the next step is up to her. I'm sitting here smiling since I have a real good idea of what that will be! :D

you seem to have gotten close to Gen, it's to bad you are so far away. I can just see the two of you together figuring out the plan, step by step, then having Gen's husband clearing the path, you running defense and Gen grabbing Cookie and away the four of you go!!!!! I don't know mabey it would be the pissed off Momma clearing the path!!!! Theres nothing worse than a mad momma!!!!!! It is so good to have a network you can go to and get the kindness and support that I have seen here. The reason behind my angry post is my brothers house was robbed in Tn. The law even stopped a guy walking along the road and asked (couldn't demand due to no search warrant) to empty the bag he had with him. They were looking for his knife collection. Then my brother got a call of whom had his shotgun and the law went to their house and inquired. Turned out to be his gun. The law took possion of the gun then, because it was stolen property. So I guess it just got under my skin that my furrbaby doesn't have as much priority as a gun would have. I know its the law and all but just seems wrong to me. Isn't Cookie stolen property if they did not report finding the animal to animal control in that area. Tn does consider it to be stolen if whomever finds the animal does not phone it in to the nearest shelter. Anyways at least Cookie has been inside where it is warm and hopefully has been cared for and not outside in the elements.
