I think it is just terrible that they aren't helpful. They are after all the HUMANE society. Why won't they even get off their butt and look for you? It is ridiculous!! You would think working there they would want their animals to be reunited with their families. Sending prayers to you and hopeing it is Cookie. They sound like idiots!!! |
praying it's Cookie. Please let it be Cookie |
Prayers for Cookie to be safe and in your arms very, very soon. :hands: |

Just checking in Gen. Still praying. |
This is God awful. May I suggest also contacting UPS, Fedex, DHL and USPS. Those drivers are everywhere and may site your little one. Hoping you are reunited soon. |
Please don't loose hope, about a few years ago i had a huskey who got out of the gate one day, and i couldn't find him anywhere i checked the nearest spca. Well a few months later a co worker of mine said, "Did you ever find your dog?" I said, "no" she said, well i was reading the paper and found a dog on here that sounds like yours (he had a lazy ear) we'l i contacted the people and they lived about 30 min away in the next city. I rushed over and sure enough it was Cody he was soo happy to seee me. It turns out these people voulunteer at a shelter and noticed he was an older dog but a good dog, so instead of the pound putting him to sleep they decided to take him. They said he was a great dog but cried a lot so they figured he was missing his family, and thats when they placed the ad. What a miracle! So keep having faith, i know ur baby will be home soon! |

Not him. I actually saw this ad in another site. Thanks though.Cookie has more gold face and smaller nose. Thank you for helping me search:) Gen |
Today I went to that Humane Society which is far from me but it is the main Humane Society for the treasure coast. I walked through the adoption area first. It's very pretty there. But when I walked to the found area...OMG I have a strong stomach but this was beyond anything Ive seen or smelled before/ The guy didnt follow me in there, he just held the door open. I kept on gagging and gagging. There was SOOOOO MUCH poop everywhere. In one kennel there were about 3 puppies that looked like labs and there was a HUGE pile of poop the size of a large lasagna pan! I guess there is no need for them to keep that area looking decent until they are up for adoption. Gen |
What is wrong with them???????? Just because they're not adoptable doesn't mean they don't need to be clean. They're living creatures too. That just makes me mad. |

Gen, I haven't posted lately but you and Cookie are still in my thoughts. I check the post everyday for updates. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can help you in any way. |
I mentioned before that one of this area's Humane Society branches is run by a family that won't allow outsiders (outside the family) to work there. Many people suspect they are making money on the side by selling lost dogs. I'd tell you where it is but their lawyer might be pounding on my door. The safest thing to do is to take a found dog to a rescue that you can trust, maybe one that's recommended by your vet. The poop pile shelter sounds like a place for the Dirty Jobs guy to visit! Darn, Gen, I like lasagna!! Now I have to wait a while before I have that again! |
Gen, you must be totally worn out with worry and stress from people who you would think would help you. Keeping Cookie in my prayer's for a safe return to you. |

Just want to let everyone know that my computer has a virus and I cant check my emails !!! So I am using my hubby's computer for the moment. I am so worried that I might have lost so much information. I had all my emails saved that had anything to do with Cookie. I have to go now. A k9 Search dog is visiting my home in a few minutes! It's free and its practice for them. I will let you know if anything... Gen |

^^prayers^^ and ((hugs)) to you Gen |
Just checking for updates and sending prayers.. |
The K9 dog just left it was here about 35 minutes. IT did pick up Cookie's scent. It sniffed like crazy where Cookie always would go to which is the BBQ grill and a little wooden doghouse that Cookie always was around because Cookie loves lizards. Then the dog went to where the hole in the fence was. We had to go out in the street and the dog went to the back street. Did the same thing, sniffed like crazy on the wood fence. It kept going near a stop sign going in circles sniffing. Then it went to a driveway swell and stayed sniffing for a while. Of course the lady and I squat down to look to see if there were any remains in there. But we found nothing. The scent was too old is what the K9 trainer told me and we both knew that the chances were slim to find anything. She did tell me if I get a solid lead to please call her and she will take her dog to see if she can track Cookie's scent. We used Cookie's collar and his carrier. So it 'appears that Cookie might have gone out through the back and to the back street and around to where my street was after that the dog lost the scent. So it could well be that Cookie walked another block or so and got picked up. I dont know know but maybe. I have to go now and go see another Yorkie at Animal Control. ITs not Cookie but I want to know if its up for adoption since its been there for days already. Gen |
Gen, if you are running XP then it should be easy to recover from the virus if restore points are turned on. I can walk you through it, just try and PM me through his PC. If I don't hear from you I'll call. Mine picked up a virus last week from a YouTube post on the YT Videos forum. YouTube is full of them. Whatever you do, DON'T do a system reload until we try restore points. |

I will see if I can call you later and see if you can walk me through it! I am pretty clueless when it comes to PC's! Gen |
Hi Gen, When you said the K-9 sniffed quite a while at a drive way swell is it someone's drive way? Did you knock on their door to ask if they saw anything or what if they saw him there and picked him up therefore no more scent? Always praying for you to have him very soon back in your arms xo |
I'm going to talk to them. I met the couple that lives there. I believe they are retired and very nice people. So I will ask them if they seen anything in the past 2+months and if they mind if we go out there and check the swell with a flashlight and poles. It was full of water so we cant see anything now. i will keep him in my thoughts and prayer...Yoshi went missing almost a year ago....on Feb 21st, 2009 and I still pray and hope for his return home to me....but in the meantime who ever has him is loving him as much as i do! |
Have you tried www.petharbor.com? It is a website of many shelters in different areas. If you put in your zip code and specific breeds it will pull up all the dogs that have been impound. Most have pictures. Unfortunately there are many horrible people that work for shelters that if they find a dog that they would like to keep for themselves or a family member they will never make it to the site. I continue to pray for Cookie's safe return. |
