Just wanted to stop by and tell everyone thanks again for all the warm wishes and birthday comments. I went out today with Monica got her a pink toothbrush at petCo and just kept thinking " This should be Cookie going out with me today" But it felt bittersweet. I had my good cry around midnight lastnight, said a little prayer and headed for bed. I am ok I dont think anyone here knows its his birthday and I dont want to mention it. I dont want any pitty today. I'm focusing on getting busy at work and hoping for the best. Gen |

Happy Birthday Cookie. Praying for your safe return. |
Happy Birthday Cookie! We are all praying that you are reunited with your family soon. Never give up hope!!! |
I have been looking on the internet to find something or someone who could help. I found a web site for lost dogs and there are so many. Even 1 in my city and they have located over 1/2 of number of lost dogs. Sounds unbelievable but there it was. It is, fidofinder.com. Can't hurt to list Cookie there and on her birthday, God is watching, and who knows what may happen. People have change of heart and who knows. There are so many prayers being said, it may help. Will be here until Cookie comes home.... Jessie N POOHBEAR |
I am also in tears - I feel so very bad for you - I can't imagine what you are feeling - but my thoughts and prayers are with you.... |

Post! Post signs, post on here Craig list the pounds and rescues, the corner store, the local laundry mat, the police department...offer a reward! For a dog who accidentally escaped yard, if he was taken maybe the sheer volume of pictures of him on signs will prompt someone to return him, be sure to note he is microchiped and registered to you. I wished all vets offices scanned for microchips to aid in the theft and return of dogs...in the mean time imagine someone has him safe and they are eagerly attempting to find his home, my Schnorkie is a runner, he will smell something and before you see him blink he's gone full bolt no stopping gone, he's gotten away a couple times now and I sent my boyfriend in hot pursuit running after him...luckily Scoobers has only ever made it a couple blocks away and barely missed a car once, I know that sick feeling you get in the pit of your stomach, thinking of you. Please update your post WHEN your little one is found, so we can all hear about his adventure scaring mom. |
Trust me all this has been done. Probably over 2,000 different flyers already. All the vets in this county have his flyer, shelters. I post on craigslist every week also. I just got off the phone with Lisa the poster who wrote about this little yorkie being kept in a carrier all day long. Here's my post: I just got off the phone with Lisa. She seems pretty sure this yorkie is about 7 months old. It wont be easy getting this yorkie out of this very sad situation. The owner has him way too many hours in that carrier and the dog is in its poop until taken out. He's about 2 lbs and very underweight. The owner gave him to a family and the yorkie was returned to her after 2 months and now he's back in the carrier. I begged her to keep me updated and she will call me as soon as she can get in contact with them. I let her know that even if this is not Cookie, I will volunteer to go get him out of there and foster him for a while. Trust me that baby will not go to just anyone. Give her some time to try and get in contact with these people. That is why she has not replied here yet. Please pray for this little guy. Gen Quote:

What the CREAM CHEESE is wrong with ppl? I htink Lisa needs another little guy, even if only to temporarily nurse him back to health and then put him with a real family, there's no excuse for this, neglect is abuse, and its cheeses me off when you have poor caring loving great people deathly sick over the loss of their dogs and then ppl like this who don't give a hoot either way! Like I said in the (really sickening case) dog traped in own fur story, there is a proven correlation between how ppl treat animals nad people, in the least for our own sake we should consider animal abuse a far more devious crime. HAs anyone taken thi spup from these people yet?!!!? I mean forget the lease agreement you have pick it up and take it to a rescue at least! Someone let me know I'm in California, I'll call a local rescue in FL from here if needed.. |
Gen I think of you and Cookie often, still praying for him to be found, so the 2 of you can be together again. Every time I get a notice from this thread, I say a quick prayer, please let this be the post about Gen finding Cookie. Your efforts will pay off, I believe in it. God bless you, you are an awesome Mom. |
Gen, I constantly check this thread and keep hoping for good news. I continue to pray for Cookie's return. |
1 Attachment(s) Just wanted to post another blessing from my story. By now so many people have read what's happened to Cookie online. I received an email from someone I know online who is a Yorkie owner and totally spoils his babies. He emailed me telling me that his brother could no longer care for his yorkie and was wondering if I wanted him. He is 2 yrs old and weighs under 4 lbs. Of course I asked for a picture...always hoping I'd see Cookie's picture. Well this is not Cookie of course but he is adorable! I already had the perfect mommy in mind. She has been helping me with Cookie's search. Has no other small pets since her furbaby passed away. So she is getting this little guy, neutered, up to date on all shots ABSOLUTELY FREE! This helps me heal believe it or not. Everytime I find a home for a yorkie or reunite a yorkie with their owner. I feel like I'm healing because of this. Soon we will have a playdate with her and her new bundle of joy and Monica for her birthday. I'm not doing any little get together at my home so we'll go to a doggy park and outdoor cafe somewhere to celebrate her birthday. I only talk about my hope to find Cookie again to you guys. As far as my family thinks....I am moving on and letting him go. NO WAY will I ever give up that hope and forget Cookie. It's been 4 months and I often go back and replay the events of that day in November...it still makes me shake and cry. I will update you guys if anything new happens. Gen This is the little guy that was offered to me. He will be going to his new mommy next week. He is too cute! |
Gen, you are being so brave and wonderful helping all these little dogs, and its really good to hear that it is helping you to heal. So many of us pray for you and Cookie, and never give up hope that one day we will read that Cookie is back with you where he belongs. I think most of us sometimes write things on here that we don't share with our family...things that only another yorkie owner would understand! sending a big hug your way. |
Aww....Gen you are truly a good person! |
Gen, this is very, very sweet of you!!! I pray Cookie is back with you soon! |
 I swear the nerve of some people!!! This is why I think the same type of person has my Cookie!! I check craigslist everyday. I ran across a post that says PLEASE read HELP! This woman's mini shnauzer has been missing since 03/05/10 She has gone nuts looking for her girl. All I know is that some woman got her dog RE registered with the microchip. The original owner was given the information from the microchip company of this new woman.Only her phone number which I think is her home number. She told them that she has every single vet paper for her dog and this should never have happened but the problem was that her dog's chip was NOT registered! She called the woman and asked about her dog. The woman told her that she had found a shnauzer and kept her a few days but the dog ran off. I contacted the owner through Craigslist and told her my gut says THIS WOMAN IS LYING and still has your dog!! I would be willing to do some online searches with her name and number. I told her she could probably get the woman's address and stake out the home or have someone ring the bell to see if her dog was there. Well this owner had basically dropped the issue that this woman still had her dog and sort of bought her story. I told her I bet she still has your dog. Well GUESS WHAT?? The owner called the woman again and told her she would be filing a police report and since she registered her dog that the police will be in contact with her to review this case. WELL GUESS what again! After 2 days the woman called the owner back and told her "I'm sorry for lying to you but I've had your dog for the past 3 weeks, please come get her this is my address" The owner emailed me lastnight to tell me she got her dog back from the same woman who denied that she still had her! ugh!!! I'm very happy for her and I am glad that I took 5 minutes to email this lady and have her double check that story out. She would NOT have gotten her dog back. By the way this is in South Florida where this happened. People like this just ...I dont get it!? Gen |
I agree Gen...I know someone out there has Cookie. I pray that he comes home to you soon. Just like this lady got her schnauzer back, I believe in my heart that you will have your Cookie back. Hugs.. |
Gen, I'm new here, but I stumbled across your thread and couldn't stop until I had read the entire 100+ pages. Something came to me today and I wanted to see if anyone had thought of this. I'm sure somebody probably has, but I don't have internet service out here in the boonies of Kentucky and have been reading this on my blackberry so I may have missed it. I apologize if I have! Many many people from my area (and I'm sure a lot of other states) winter in Florida for several months each year. My dh's aunt migrated from Maine to Bradenton every year and maintained two homes. Is it possible that Cookie could have been "obtained" by somebody like this and is now in another state? I would be willing to put fliers up here in western Kentucky on the off chance that this might be possible. Good luck, and let me know if a barefoot Kentuckian can help in ANY way! Julie |
