It's going on 2pm and I haven't heard anything yet, I called the vet, but of course got the message machine, so frustrating, I am going to call again soon They were suppose to call me and tell me if the vet was going to pull his baby teeth and how many would need to be pulled and I haven't heard from them ( it is the only vet around, the next vet is an 8 hr drive away ) I am going to try calling again, I wish I trusted this vet more, I would feel better if I did. Thanks again All

| That first surgery is always such a worry for us. I hope everything is turning out alright and you find out he is doing just fine. (I'm sure he is). Boys usually do a lot better at recuperating than girls. Skeeter was a fireball when he got home - it was hard to keep him down while Adie came home in quite a bit of pain but was fine the very next morning. Both had teeth take out as well and being spayed and neutered. I hope you hear something soon! Hugs L |

| Guys, Bailey is home and he is crying non stop and shaking, I called the vet and they are no longer there, the vet was gone when I picked Bailey up, she had some appt or something, so I didn't get to talk to her, Bailey seems to want to get at the stitches too, but can't reach, Is this shaking and crying normal? He must be starved, he hasn't eaten since 6pm last evening, and they told me not to feed him until 6 pm tonight, it is now nearly 3:45pm here, that is 24 hrs without food!

| Did your vet send home any pain med for him? Shaking is sometimes a sign of pain and since he's just had surgery I'd figure he is in pain. I have had them get teeth done at the same time as a neuter/spay and they seem to have a little harder time of things so my vet will send them home with pain meds for over night. I have also seen animals that have had pain meds be scared and confused because they don't know why they are feeling so weird so if he's had pain meds that may be the problem. If it were me, I'd decide if my pup was aware enough to to have some Nutrical to stave off hypoglycemia to get him through a couple more hours and hold/keep them close to sooth them through their pain/confusion. Hope this helps. |

| Oh, I feel so bad for Bailey. Do you have any canned or soft food? My vet has always allowed me to feed mine a small amount after they come home from a spay/neuter, then wait a few hours and they can be fed normally. I hope he's acting better soon! Also, I know the next nearest vet is hours away, but maybe you could call & see if they could recommend something for the pain.

| Donating YT 30K Club Member | I would definitley give him a little canned food and see how he tolerates it and the nutrical. Also keep him warm. None of mine shook after spaying but my pom laid under the bed and cried for 2 days. I stayed home from work with her. I believe my vet gives them a pain shot that last the first 24 hours and then sends home some pain pills. I hope he feels better soon.

| Awww, I am sorry to hear that Bailey is not feeling so hot. Yes, definitely give him some soft food and maybe nutrical. If you don't have that, then try some honey or karo syrup. Also, remember he may have not eaten but he was hooked up to an iv which gives him something. Just give him lots of lovins. Also, I would call the vet as soon as you can get a hold of them and ask for some pain meds. I wish I would have done that with Hot Rod. We gave Maggie some the night of her spay as she was crying and whining. She was fine the next day. Give Bailey a big hug and kiss from us. Can you just call another vet to ask if there is anything you can give him? Or does your vet have an answering service? Try that and maybe you can get someone to call you back.

| Hi Darlene, I am glad Bailey is home with you. Poor little one . I would also try and feed him very small amount of food, canned is easier . He needs to keep his blood sugar up too, plus a little water . My puppy Miely , she is 5 months old, recently had to have surgery , the vet placed an e collar around her neck , to avoid getting to the stitches. She hates wearing it , but it is a lifesavor. I am having to feed Miely by hand, and give her water by the spoonfuls. The vet placed her on pain meds , every 24 hours, and antibiotics twice a day, every 12 hours. I had to leave Miely overnight, hardest thing for me to ever do, I could not stop crying. My puppy is being very needy , and clingy right now. I just brought her home last night. The vet told me I could feed her that very night, so I have , she did fine . i would call your vet if your Bailey continues to cry, because I would think he is in pain, needs pain meds. It is really good that he can't reach the stitches. Makes it a lot easier to care for him. Give him lots of TLC, and try to feed him a little bit of food.
