| UGH i hate it too. I only carry Layla if her safety is an issue. Sometimes we are in crowded places where she could easily EASILY get stepped on. I hold her in petstores because well- who KNOWS what is on those floors! But i get SO sick of those comments. We were at my aunt's house this past weekend and there were little kids there that were ALL over Layla- just in her face and wouldn't leave her alone- so I ended up holding her the whole night and I didn't hear the end of it- but I dont' care- she is MY dog and MY responsibility and I was not going to let some little kid drop her. |

Sorry parents, I was not talking about ALL parents, only the ones that think their kid is god's gift to humanity, and that's why they are such spoiled brats to begin with!!!! I have to say I HAVE seen sweet polite kids that ask if it's ok to say hi to your dog, or their parents ask for them. In those cases I actually let them pet her or even pick her up while I'm holding her from behind.

| Could it be that the people that make nasty remarks about us carrying our furbabies, are the very same people who seem to rarely 'carry' their own skinbabies. They always have them in some plastic container. What is that? Poor babies never know what it is to feel arms around them. The parents would rather spend 10minutes unlatching a large cumbersome carrier from some sort of contraption in the car instead of just unstrapping the baby and carrying it in their arms. I don't understand. Is it a generational thing? What am I missing? Seriously, I've watched them really struggle to get those big carriers out of the car, watched them use both hands to lug them around the store, they look really heavy, while this little 10-12lb baby is lying inside. Sometimes, it seems they just don't want to touch the baby, if they use that to transport car to store to home, feed, change, sleep, etc... when DO they touch the baby? No wonder they think we're crazy. Wouldn't it have been easier to have just scooped up the baby and hugged it to you, carried it around and done some quality bonding while shopping. I've seen some baby slings that some new mommies are using that look wonderful. So, if they never touch their skinkids, they really must think were nuts!!!!

Forget what people think. I used to think like that too , but my baby is too important to worry about anyone else.

| LMAO!! ![]() It is like you got in my head every time I have a gathering at my house, or go to someone's home with Chloe!. People are not used to such tiny doggies, and I'm so over protective of her getting hurt, stepped on or kicked that I hold her all the time!!; I'm truly considering getting one of those chest carriers so I can have free hands(I do need them ) and still be able to have her with me. People shoudl just stay quiet and not meddle in what is not for them to decide!; they're our babies, and as good mommies we know what's best for them and for us too!! ^_^ ![]() LETS KEEP HOLDING THEM !!

it's obnoxious with adults as well, some adults are worse about grabbing the dog and fluffing her up all harshly than the kids are. in general i just wish people would NOT touch my dog unless they ask first

yay for slings, strollers, and arms!! oh and Kwigy-bo bags to sneak babies around in...there is not a thing wrong with occasionally babying or carrying our babies. they are little and need it more often than the big dogs.

Hmmm...maybe that's why a lot of people think that all small dogs are snappy, when in reality, it's just a little lie/fib to get obnoxious people off your case lol.

| Yikes I have never had a rude comment yet . I guess I should count my blessing. Everybody we run into has said nothing but nice things. I would never say anything rude to someone about there animals. I was raised if you don't have anything nice to say then keep your mouth shut.
