UGH i hate it too. I only carry Layla if her safety is an issue. Sometimes we are in crowded places where she could easily EASILY get stepped on. I hold her in petstores because well- who KNOWS what is on those floors! But i get SO sick of those comments. We were at my aunt's house this past weekend and there were little kids there that were ALL over Layla- just in her face and wouldn't leave her alone- so I ended up holding her the whole night and I didn't hear the end of it- but I dont' care- she is MY dog and MY responsibility and I was not going to let some little kid drop her.
