| oh rly? hmm..i'll have to check that out, well i think for all intensive purposes they can do all the vaccinations and such, there are two pet hospitals in Liberty, MO so it's not a big deal to quickly go there instead if need be. |

| There is currently a class action suit going against Banfiled. here is a link for some of the complaints: Banfield Pet Hospital Reviews and this is about the class action: http://www.merchantcircle.com/busine...ead?cid=289028 In terms of saying "they are probably good enough for routine things" a NUMBER of people have had dogs have bad reactions to even simple vaccinations. The comments about the botched tail docking are classic: they are all nice when they are TAKING your money, but, if you have any problems and try and get them to admit it, well...not so great. And there was someone here on the list who's mother's dog died, I believe, as a result of bad treatment by the vets. RUN. Seriously, these people are butchers. You can not possibly have this many lawsuits if you were above board, not to mention you still have to PAY YOUR ENTIRE CONTRACT if your dog dies?? Crazy.

Well 3 days later she was fighting for her life and for my cause I felt so bad for her, My ex use to use the vet in Joliet and I call him crying he pick us up thanks God we r still friend, and I took her there, that Vet should b mold, I love her, and her wonderful staff . She save my baby and she was so upset she called the vet at the other office, how did they not see the baby was so sick , what did they check ? Than she call the breeder , that paid for that vet bill , So I transfer my baby there and put Max on a plan there . I drive 1 hour to her office to see her every time we need to see the vet. I lived 7 minutes away from the vet in Naperville office. So it's not Banfield u look for , U look for a very good Vet and good staff. And once u find them keep them forever lol. Or until u move out of state like now in Orlando, I'm looking for a vet. I'm between IL and Fl , but always take the babies to IL for the vet if I'm out of town I call her for any thing I need for them. bark@ulater! manina, miley , max

I agree with you there, i'm sure there are plenty of Banfields with great vets, and lots with terrible vets, i'll go by today and see if i can look at their vet's certification and how many years experience in vet med. if it's like a year or two i'm running away, but there could be the nice old doc who's been experienced for 20++years who just happens to work there...hmmm..

| Just want to shed a small bit of positive light on the banfield clinic, there may be lots of controversy surrounding it online, and i've been reading about how they make you continue to pay the plan even if the pet dies I had to call and ask about this and i was told: "It would depend upon the circumstances, if you have already used all of the services provided in the package and had to cancel the package due to a pet's death, you would still be either responsible for the services OR if it were cheaper they would just charge you the regular plan billing for the rest of that year." So basically, if you've spayed your puppy, and then she died for some reason, you would still be responsible for the cost of the spay, or if it's cheaper to just have you pay off the rest of the plan, they'd go that route. Makes perfect sense to me, i mean if a human went to the hospital for a month, then died in the hospital, you would still have to pay the hospital bills or your insurance plan that covers those bills for you... not saying to go for it with banfield, keep researching, but that's what that one was all about.. i did ask about seeing the degrees and years exp. of their vets and they said sure anytime i could come in and they could give that info out. so that's what i'm going to be doing. keep researching yorkie lovers!!! |

Sorry, I'm still against the fact that you are getting your dog from a puppy mill (which is the same as a backyard breeder, and how can you say they love their dogs if they are outside in kennels and only inside during puppyhood)... and the dog has no shots and is leaving the mom at 6 weeks. The dog shouldn't have shots at 6 weeks, but still it shouldn't leave that early. You are going to "save" the puppy, but in reality you are just supporting them to breed more and more puppies because you can't pay $1000 for a well bred, high quality pup. I pray that your dog is ok, and gets house trained easily since you are going to bring her to your parents when she is house trained. Could be a year, could be never. I pray that she doesn't come down with something that costs over $5000, even a thousand so she doesn't have to get surrendered to a rescue. She is a young pup, will chew, pee, poo, maybe throw up and have diarrhea due to how she was raised. Bark a lot too. Socializing just with your aunts dog is NOT enough to make her friendly. Dogs need to be out and about until the first year at least to be well socialized. To me, a dog is a big deal. I did years of research. My scruffs may not have been from a good breeder and I will never know (although the owner said she searched weeks for a good breeder.. I would have searched longer myself), but I got him as a rehome at a year old and I would give up everything to make him healthy. Oh, and about your parents. If my parents said I couldn't bring Scruffs I'd just not visit them. If they can't accept that he is part of me and my life, then I must not be very important to them. That's not the case though, and they have grown to love Scruffs. I might be crazy, but I love my dog more than anything in the world. I don't want to post this but I can't hold out any longer. Sorry but I'm frustrated since it is pointless when people ask for advice and then ignore it.

| i don't even know what to say to this, so rather than try to say anything i'll just let it go, and let the others make up their minds on how they feel about the way you came across there. |

| how dare you two treat people the way that you do!! I didn't even ask for that opinion on this thread, it's about my mom and dad, and then it shifted to Banfield clinic advice... you are both so rude and hateful to attack someone on a thread that isn't even about puppy mills or anything of that matter. hope everyone reads your comments and sees how awful you both are! |
