there may be lots of controversy surrounding it online, and i've been reading about how they make you continue to pay the plan even if the pet dies
I had to call and ask about this and i was told:
"It would depend upon the circumstances, if you have already used all of the services provided in the package and had to cancel the package due to a pet's death, you would still be either responsible for the services OR if it were cheaper they would just charge you the regular plan billing for the rest of that year."
So basically, if you've spayed your puppy, and then she died for some reason, you would still be responsible for the cost of the spay, or if it's cheaper to just have you pay off the rest of the plan, they'd go that route.
Makes perfect sense to me, i mean if a human went to the hospital for a month, then died in the hospital, you would still have to pay the hospital bills or your insurance plan that covers those bills for you...
not saying to go for it with banfield, keep researching, but that's what that one was all about..
i did ask about seeing the degrees and years exp. of their vets and they said sure anytime i could come in and they could give that info out. so that's what i'm going to be doing. keep researching yorkie lovers!!! |
I don't know. Just because a few people have a good experience, doesn't mean there aren't many others who had a good experience. Same goes for puppy mills. Just because one person happen to have a healthy dog from a puppy mill, there are millions of others who spent thousands and thousands of dollars on their dog. Maybe you will be lucky, but that is like winning the lottery on a puppy mill dog. It just isn't going to happen.
Sorry, I'm still against the fact that you are getting your dog from a puppy mill (which is the same as a backyard breeder, and how can you say they love their dogs if they are outside in kennels and only inside during puppyhood)... and the dog has no shots and is leaving the mom at 6 weeks. The dog shouldn't have shots at 6 weeks, but still it shouldn't leave that early. You are going to "save" the puppy, but in reality you are just supporting them to breed more and more puppies because you can't pay $1000 for a well bred, high quality pup.
I pray that your dog is ok, and gets house trained easily since you are going to bring her to your parents when she is house trained. Could be a year, could be never. I pray that she doesn't come down with something that costs over $5000, even a thousand so she doesn't have to get surrendered to a rescue.
She is a young pup, will chew, pee, poo, maybe throw up and have diarrhea due to how she was raised. Bark a lot too. Socializing just with your aunts dog is NOT enough to make her friendly. Dogs need to be out and about until the first year at least to be well socialized. To me, a dog is a big deal. I did years of research. My scruffs may not have been from a good breeder and I will never know (although the owner said she searched weeks for a good breeder.. I would have searched longer myself), but I got him as a rehome at a year old and I would give up everything to make him healthy.
Oh, and about your parents. If my parents said I couldn't bring Scruffs I'd just not visit them. If they can't accept that he is part of me and my life, then I must not be very important to them. That's not the case though, and they have grown to love Scruffs. I might be crazy, but I love my dog more than anything in the world.
I don't want to post this but I can't hold out any longer. Sorry but I'm frustrated since it is pointless when people ask for advice and then ignore it.
