♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Doggie Daycare (/Play Days) As some of you know, I have been thinking about getting Bella a sister sometime later this year, so she has someone to play with, etc... Not only have my hours been cut at work (which makes a new puppy a lot less likely to be affordable), but I also LIKE being able to take Bella with me places (and I think I might not be able to do that with 2....though I would feel better about leaving her home "alone" if she wasn't going to be all alone). I also love that Bella is my baby girl (and I worry that if I have another, she'll lose some of that specialness of it being just me and her...and daddy ). Sooooo, I've been thinking about what I really want out of a new puppy, and the main thing I want is for Bella to have SOMEONE to play with. She loves to play with other dogs, but she just doesn't have much chance to as it is now. So, tomorrow I'm taking her to a doggie daycare here in town (I don't need it for the daycare part, just the play and interacting part because they let the dogs, almost all of them Yorkies, run around in a room and play!) I'm planning to stay for just a little while to make sure things are all as wanted, but I've been there before (for grooming), and I think it will be fine. And, maybe I'll decide that's enough for her, or maybe it will just reinforce my puppy plans. Either way, though, I'm hoping this turns out to be really good for her! (I'd love to hear thoughts/advice/comments/etc..., and I'll update how it goes. Thanks!)

| I have also been thinking about getting a girl Yorkie to go along with my 10 month old Yorkie boy, Rocky. We take him to doggie daycare at least once a week (sometimes twice a week) and are members of a small dog playgroup. This is a good way for him to burn off some energy and have fun with other dogs. I have had the smae concerns as you about the dynamic, how the next Yorkie would interact with Rocky, if people would be as willing to dog-sit with two doggies vs. one, and if Rocky (and the new puppy) would get enough attention. It is a very hard question for my husband and I as we want to spend a lot of time with the new puppy as well. This topic caught my eye - very interesting!

! We don't have a dog park in my town either, though I'm not sure how I'd feel about going. So much poop (NO ONE cleans up after themselves ANYWHERE I've found!! even though my bf and I do ....plus, sadly Bella is a poop eater--YUCKO!--and I don't want her eating her own, much less other dogs'), and I also worry about other dogs giving Bella something (fleas/disease/whatever!) If we had one, though, and they had a side just for small dogs, I think we'd probably at the very least check it out.

| So sorry you don't have a dog playgroup. You could think about starting one on your own if you are interested - depending on the demand and the size of your town. We go for pack walks a lot and the organizer puts on indoor playgroups during our cold winters. It is fabulous!!! We feel lucky and you know, Rocky is SO well adjusted and happy. I think it is because of the time we took in socializing him to people, dogs and everything we could. He loves children, big dogs, small dogs, older people ... as long as they are friendly his tail is wagging!

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Here's a pic of Bella and Luxy (her Chinese Crested pal) running around together.....aren't they adorable!!! (Yes, Luxy has pink feet! Her mommy's a hair stylists and brings her to work every day...the other girls decided she needed pink feet, lol! She's a cutie!)

| Very very cute picture! It seems like they do have fun together. Is Bella or Luxy high energy? This could affect how they interact if one is more playful than the other. They could play together differently.

Her ID tag has: Name My CELL # (not home, in case I'm out looking for her god forbid!) "REWARD! NEEDS MEDS!" "MICROCHIPPED" Those last 3 things are there to hopefully get her back. She is microchipped, but the person who "finds" her doesn't need to know either her chip # or even the company the chip is with...the person who scans her will know all that information. I have heard stories where a chip # was on the tag, and then the finder had the info changed to their info without ever having to have the dog scanned, thereby making it more difficult for the true owner to prove ownership. I do like having simply "microchipped" on there, because I'm hoping that's just one more deterrent for the person when deciding whether they will call and get that reward or just keep her!

♥ love my girls!! ♥ Donating Member | Bella is more high energy, type-A than Luxy. BUT, Luxy tries to play with Bella....Bella just pretty much ignores her to explore. I have noticed, though, that Bella seems to play more with dogs who seem to be more type-A like herself. Maybe that's it?? (Side note: I would really say, that there are leaders, middle-of-the-roaders, and followers, and Bella is more a middle-of-the-roader--Luxy is probably more a follower??? Bella will actually allow dogs to take toys and even food literally right out of her mouth, although she NEVER takes toys/food away from other dogs!)

To socialize we go for long country walks (there are plenty) and seaside walks too.Its just about judging who you meet when Tia is off the lead for example 1.is it a big dog? 2.can the owner control it? 3. am I scared of it lol because Tia wont be, shes never been bit and never bitten YET lol
