Don't forget too that yorkies are VERY stubborn when it comes to potty training so you have to be consistent and you all have to be on the same page with potty training. There are a TON of threads on potty training that you can search through.

Well each dog is different. The way we trained Chip was, he was crated at night and any time we were gone or couldn't watch him 100%. We watched him for signs that he was about to go potty. As soon as we took him out of his crate, we put him on a pee pad and he wasn't allowed to go until he went. If we caught him going somewhere off the pad, we told him "NO" firmly and put him on the pee pad and said "This is where you POTTY" emphasizing the "potty" as you want them to learn the command. When he did what he was supposed to he got LOTS of praise, play time, and treats. If he didn't, he went in his crate for about 15 minutes and then we tried again. This same method can be used for outside training too.

Although you havent had problems before, 6 weeks is definitely too young for a pup to leave its mum.

I have 2 Yorkies from Quebec and they are registered and have pedigrees . This is the most stupid thing I have heard . If the mother is not register , its not because she came from Quebec but more that the lady wanted a cheap female and sell the pups at higher price .

Not every 6-8 week old yorkie is going to have problems, I think it has a lot to do with their size. My first one was one day shy of 7 weeks, and never had a problem with hypoglycemia or anything else, she's now almost 6 years. She's never been aggressive, and actually never bit us or anyone else. Ones I've bougthen at 5 mos have bitten and had more problems, so, I'm one that really does NOT believe in this "letting mama teach them crap". A lot of it has to do with the dog period. I would get a health gurantee from the lady that you're getting the pup from, that if there is anything wrong with the puppy that you get your money back.

Sounds like she didn't have either dog very long before this happened. She might not of even known the female was going into heat. It's quite possible for this to happen to a new owner who probably didn't know the cycle of the dog or might have even been told it was fixed since it had come from a bad home in the first place. It could be possible that she had every intention of getting the 2 dogs fixed before this happened. This sort of thing happens all of the time even to reputable breeders.

Not sure about the puppies at a higher price. Remember that the dog only had one pup and it was a c-section in which she was fixed at that time. She might be charging a higher price for the pup to cover some of that cost. It's not uncommon for breeders (weather she is or not a breeder) to charge higher fees to cover vet bills.

I thought I'd throw out there that there actually are some new DNA tests to determine a dogs blood line. My sister in law who worked as a vet tech and is now working as a groomer has 2 yorkies and a rescue dog. The rescue dog is a fabulous dog. For what that dog had been through his temperament is amazing. He's the most laid back loving dog I've ever seen. Everyone that comes into the house wants to scoop him up and take him home. It leaves everyone curious to what exactly is making him up to be what he is....I'm sure it's a combination of what he's been through but you have to wonder about his genetics. So my sister in law is thinking of having the DNA done. I'm not sure how accurate it is but they do offer it now.

I know that a garantee is great but I had my pup for about 2 months and found out that she is sick but I was afraid that the breeder would put her down so I didn't return her even though she said to bring her back. I know I crazy but I wanted her to live as good of a life for as long as she has. She nine months now and doing okay not great. I will have had her for a year the end of may. What am I suppose to do?
