I need help! today we went to buy a yorkie from a lady that had one baby to sell....she told us the parents were pure breeds but when we arrived to see the baby....we saw that the father was a diffrent colour than the yorkies....he had ALOT of black...little bit of tan(i think it was tan) and he had a silver-ish colour...the mother you could say she was a pure breed...did we make a mistake by accepting? is it possible for a yorkie to have alot of black but almost no tan? oh and the baby that we gave a deposit for had some tan but not as much as the ones on google...he had alot of black also.....and some white on his paws? |
My little Abby has a lot of black on her and it's not unusual for a yorkie to have a silver color either. If you love the puppy, you didn't make a mistake :) |

i know...but my mom wanted a purebreed :S....i didnt mind...but the puppy does have some white....on his back paws |
and its not silver....its white :O |
Do you have a picture? |
Having white on paws doesn't mean he is not purebred . |
no :S we went to see him today but hes just 2 weeks old...so were just gonna get him jan 23 ... he looks like a 2 weeks old baby yorkie..exactly like a baby yorkie exceot for his colour....the father is almost ALL black...i saw a little bit of tan and silver....but he has a black face also....he looks like a yorkie exept his colour... but then i saw the baby's white paws....well the tip of his back paws are white |
Who is the breeder ? |
shes not a breeder....she just had a male and female yorkie....and...well you know...lol |

That's way too young and you could end up with lots of problems if you take him that early. Ideally he should stay with his Mother until he's 12 weeks, 10 weeks at the earliest. |
and the puppy doesnt have tan on his paws |
she got her 2 yorkies at 6 weeks....and she didnt have problems...we got our other dogs at 6 weeks also |
The sticky on Yorkie Coats, Colors, etc. has a lot of information that's related to your original question, but may not have the answer you are looking for. http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/gen...rt-thread.html |
It is not unusual to find small white marks on one or more toes, or a fine white line on lower forjaw. These will not be visible as an adult. Any such marks should therefore be noted wherever you keep such records, as one is apt to forget which puppy had them after they grow up. this helped....i guess its ok to have some white |
