but i also think that sometimes you have to choose your battles. what you think? if people are not welcoming your ideas, then you move on and you talk to another group about it. you simply 'agree to disagree' like someone keep saying here and you move on with life...i know it's hard, because you wish everyone can see what you see, but they can't. don't be discouraged, there are a lot of people out there who agree with your views, and in order to try to get more people to see things the way you do, you have to relax more and not be so defensive. i, for one, agree with your views on animal treatment. for the OP. please let us know how your baby is doing. thank you

(JOKING!!!)no, but on a more serious note...it's hard to understand that you can love your piglets and eat them. i am sure it's because you grew up with that dichotomy, and maybe to you it's not a dichotomy, but for people who are not used to that idea, it's hard to understand. do you agree?

| I do agree that in generally seems like i dichotomy. But I also know that my family did what they did to survive. We also grew our own veggies. Beets, corn, spinach, squash, you name it I've planted, weeded and eaten it. We had piglets in the house if something happened to the sow, or the piglet was injured or unwell. They are very smart and can be litter trained. It was just our life. From the outside looking in, it looks a little crazy, but my parents gave us an awesome life in which we learned to provide for and take care of ourselves and others. I am proud of my life, just as i am proud of those of you that chose not to eat meat. Good for you. I chose to. Good for me. People deserve to be loved and respected no matter their choices. OP--I've never heard of rabbit fever? any idea what exactly it entails? Hope your little furbaby is ok and very sorry we've taken over the world (and your thread) |

| bailey ALMOST did this... my friend had a bunny and we thought it would be fun to let them run around (bailey is only 2 pounds so it rare that she has someone close to her size to play with) they were running around the living room bailey was having a blast but then the bunny started making a screaming noise, everyone thought it was sooo cute and funny but i grabbed bailey and made them put the bunny away the poor bunny was terrified! But bailey had no idea what was happening, she thought she found herself a playmate...

| To attack an OP for a choice by her husband's, that is completely unrelated to the topic is just lacking in taste and sense. Of course your opinion is valid. But I really don't think this is the thread or even the forum to argue it. This is a dog lover's community. Out of tens of thousands of members here, I'd bet my right arm most eat meat. To say it doesn't make sense or even implying it's not possible to "love" animals yet still eat meat is just ridiculous. I think you need to open up your eyes and learn about the world a bit more. You're vegan, good for you. You feed your dogs vegetarian food, your dog, your choice. Our life, our way of eating, our business. Different strokes for different people. You want people to be open minded about your views yet you are not doing the same to others. Who spoke of karma just now? To the OP: I am sorry this has turned into an unpleasant thread for you. Please do not feel discouraged or unwelcome because someone chose to attack you on a completely unrelated topic to the thread (or even to the forum itself). I promise you we are a friendly and well behaved bunch.

| I don't think what you feed your dog has anything to do with inate instincts of a predator and dogs are pack animals. I have had dogs that would hunt mice, ground squirrels, etc. either for play or sport who really knows what they are thinking maybe just to dominate them. I have found in their vomit mice which literally made me sick. People have had to hunt for food for years just because we can go to a supermarket for food doesn't make the sportsman hunter a barbarian. I do believe animals hunted need to used for food. There are too many people going hungry just to kill for the sake of killing something without using it properly is just wrong. Most good hunters leave carcasses in the area of the kill for the animals in the habitat. HUmans have been making pets of all kinds of animals for centuries also. People have sharks, and peronia's (I am not sure I spelled this right) |

| I love YorkieTalk but sometimes it's difficult dealing with so much drama! Why do some of you feel it necessary to attack people when they are only asking for help? Isn't that what we are all here for.................each other? Can't we all just get along?
