 To hunt or not to hunt
I don't think what you feed your dog has anything to do with inate instincts of a predator and dogs are pack animals.
I have had dogs that would hunt mice, ground squirrels, etc. either for play or sport who really knows what they are thinking maybe just to dominate them.
I have found in their vomit mice which literally made me sick.
People have had to hunt for food for years just because we can go to a supermarket for food doesn't make the sportsman hunter a barbarian.
I do believe animals hunted need to used for food. There are too many people going hungry just to kill for the sake of killing something without using it properly is just wrong.
Most good hunters leave carcasses in the area of the kill for the animals in the habitat.
HUmans have been making pets of all kinds of animals for centuries also.
