| ![]() Krissie is gonna have silver hair. Her mother did. Her mom was 5.5 lbs and her dad was 3.5 lbs. Her dad was black and tan with longer legs and small features. Her mom was very silver and gold with SHORT legs. More of a square terrier looking face. Krissie will look more like her mom. I love her no matter what. She is precious to me..

| ![]() I personally like the standard, I like the tan and black, gold and black, Im not too fond of the silver, but it really doesn't matter.. only the dog's personality really matters to me! I know that when I got my Cookie, my breeder told me a lady had come before me to look at her, possibly to purchase and she said she was not interested because Cookie was "not the right color" hmm not sure what color she was looking for! Oh well, her preference I guess hehe ![]()

| ![]() I have to say that my opinion on this subject is... ...breed standards change, there's always revisions to the standards. I am in favor of the new colors, perhaps not in the show ring, but at least being able to be listed as ''alternate'' colors. All the hype about different colors causing health problems, is pure doodoo in my opinion. That'd be like saying ...only black and tan dachshunds were healthy, chocolate and tan and red ones weren't. Unless somehow merle miraculously appears in the Yorkshire Terrier (which I would VEHEMENTLY be against...to be there's a difference in genes that have always been present in the Yorkie, rather than introduced....) then I know of no color or pattern that would cause health issues. I think people like me should attempt to eventually join the national breed club, so we can vote on color legislation! ![]() Clips change, what's in vogue one year for a breed won't be in vogue the next year...I'm not saying to have an all silver, or all gold in the show ring...but a base color of chocolate, or parti-colored...I think they'd be stunning in the show ring. Why not allow three classes, like they do for cocker spaniels? ...Just my two cents. |

| ![]() For those who might remember me as "Whispersmom" you already know my thoughts on the partis. I LOVE THEM!!!! As a matter of fact, I THINK one of Sue's avatars is a grandson of my guy Remi who is almost 5 years old now. And, he has produced some gorgeous babies. I got so excited when whelping a litter and a little white head or foot popped out. How could I not love them? Partis are here to stay.JMHO |

| ![]() First of all I am the first to admit that I am NOT knowledgable about all the standards and I am not a breeder and don't plan to be....but I was at a meet up yesterday and there were about 30 yorkies there. There was every color and size and temperment of yorkie there.....and they were all beautiful. One of the most beautiful yorkies I have ever seen is Mercedes and she is the most beautiful golden color I have ever seen.

| ![]() It just won't end. When someone proves that chocolate and tan or parti-color doesn't come with any negative health effects, another reason is given. Although I can't understand how a breed club could claim that certain colors cause health problems...when you've never saw a chocolate lab that had health problems, just because it was chocolate! Or a parti-colored cocker spaniel that had problems...just because it was a parti. So now they have to give another reason. AND, ...there are solid coat colors acceptable for the Australian terrier. If what I read was correct, when the Yorkie was brought to Australia it was bred with the Aussie, and the resulting puppies were more or less the foundation for the Silky Terrier...but after awhile it got confusing and you had to have your puppy (regardless of who the parents were) inspected to see if they were Aussie, Silky, or Yorkie. So that could be some of the golden colors ''popping up''.... And, I've saw chocolate and tan silkies, (quite a few...) so that blows the argument that these colors don't present themselves in the silkies up. |

| ![]() I'm very big on sticking to the standard and believe it should not be messed with. Some dogs get lighter quicker then others but were born the correct colors. I'm totally against the intentional breeding of parti, chocolate and any other off color out there. I'm even more against bybers marketing these dogs at a higher cost. Its insane and just stupid

Hi Rini! 2 of the 3 dogs in my avatar are Remi's descendents. The parti carrier is Smiley (Smilin at the Parti) which is Remi's son and the handsome parti boy is my little Remi (A Parti to Remember) nick named after his beautiful grandsire, your Remi. I'm very proud of both my boys and love them so much! Thank you a million times over for having such beautiful, quality dogs. ![]() Glad to see you back on YT!

| ![]() Because its not the standard. Go to ytca.org and read the standard along with the dq. No where in the standard does it call for a chocolate or parti yorkie! They are all wrong.

| ![]() Doncha just love these babies??? I know that there is a club and show standard BUT there was a time when that was not the case. Our precious Yorkies were just terriers in transition to becoming their beautiful selves. |

Black and tan yorkies are also not to standard - they are all wrong as well, yet I don't see people complaining about black coat colors in their posts, only parti, chocolate and golden?
