I agree, you love them no matter what size. I have four yorkies ranging from 3 1/2 lbs to 12 lbs and I love them all the same!

| My Roxy is 4 lbs. Both of her parents were small. Also, the breeders kept one from a previous litter that was 2 1/2 lbs. I kept her once for about 6 weeks and every time I would pick her up I would hold her so gently. I have a cousin who has a bigger yorkie. He must be around 8-10lbs. Haven't seen them in a while. They also got a yorkie from an elderly person who could no longer take care of it. Her name is Prissy. She is itty bitty. If roxy was 14lbs I would still love her. I'm her momma!

| My first yorkie was 3.5 pounds. He passed a few years ago and I wanted a yorkie that was a little bigger. Otis is 9 pounds and change and he's perfect sized. Still little enough to carry around, but I don't worry as much as I did with my little bitty Shorty dog.

| when i bought my yorkie she is surposed to be 3 1/2 pounds tops. I did not see the parents and 2 days later after bringing home this beautiful pup i discovered she was covered in ringworm fugus. She was shaved down and she looked like a big sore. I thought I would die. She is now about 12 pounds and is siver. She is very sweet. I am glad she is the one I got. It was fate. camperbee |

| Katy Lou is 5 months old and weighs 5 #'s. I don't know what size she will end up nor do I care. I will love her at any size. I don't understand why so many people make so much about size. Wouldn't you love your child no matter what size he/she is? |

| Hello! My puppy is only four months and is about 2.5lbs. for your yorkie to be even at the low end of the "average size" should mean he is the perfect size. |

Also, I have a friend who's yorkie has always been tiny about 5 pounds (from the day she got him Oct 2002 to Nov 2007) and within 6 months he had skyrocketed to 10 lbs. Every dog is different and I think it has a lot to do with eating habits and genetics much like us. | |

| I agree with you all about loving your baby no matter what. I really felt that after a few days of having brought Moty home, I didn't want any other dog and that he was the most precious thing I had. Just looking into his big black eyes made me melt. I mostly asked because when my friend told me I had been "taken" by the breeder she meant that the breeder asked for too much money selling me Moty as a purebred when she thought that he was not because of his size. I would like to purchase another yorkie but I am now undecided about purchasing from the same breeder. Does anyone know of a good breeder in the South Florida area (Miami)? All I can say, though, is that fate brought Moty and I together and for that I am really happy. |
