| Snickers is 10.5 lbs at 1 yr. I think at 5 months he was 7.5 lbs. I never followed the growth chart because his weight was off the chart. I will always have large yorkies. I am a big dog person at heart and was given a yorkie as a gift after saying that I wanted another dog for my 90 lb boxer to play with but I wanted the dog to be smaller than my boxer. Why my hubby thought a yorkie was a good idea, I don't know. But I have to say that Snickers has grown to be a great dog and I will always have a small and big dog. My boxer just loves him and they play great together.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Ozzie is gi-normous. He weighed just 3.3 pounds at 11 weeks, had doubled by about six months and if I remember right, he weighed about 9 or 10 pounds by 1 yr. He is now 10 (11 next month) and weighs 15.5 pounds. (He has gained weight since being neutered last year even though he has a healthy diet and is quite active.) We're trying to scale him back to about 14. |

| Well my boy Winston was just under 2# at 12 weeks...then 3.8# at 6 months...now at 4 years of age he is a whopping 8.3#. I am hoping he's stopped gaining weight now, not that weight really matters...but I just want him to live a long and healthy life...and he is a little chunky, he really should weigh less.

If you want to call your baby a teacup lovingly or in jest, as those of who have teapots, do, that's great. Nobody would get upset by that. And please note, somehow the WRONG quote got in this post. (Was trying to use Aliza's quote.) People just get bent about the teacup reference because it usually relates to unscrupulous breeders and unknowing dog owners being defrauded. And those two things usually result in tiny dogs with serious health problems or, if you're lucky, a dog that may OK, but will exceed the 7-pound standard by quite a bit even though the person buying was told otherwise. | |

| What i have noticed comparing Pixie with my last Yorkie is that Pixie has a much slighter build, she's 3 lbs at 11 months. my last yorkie girl was between 5-6lbs and was much more 'chunky' & bigger boned. Pixie hasn't grown that much since she was 6 months old gaining no more than about half a pound in weight.
