Just because a yorkie is not in that 4 to 7 pound range, does not mean he/she is not a purebred Yorkie. I believe that range is for if you are going to "show" your dog. Think of the weight like a family with brothers and sisters. I have 2 sisters. We are all different heights and weights but have the same mother and father. And as long as you love your baby, it doesn't really matter what weight he/she is. I had a dachshund a few years back, and he was suppose to be a Mini-dachshund. Well, he turned out to be 23 pounds. He was my fat Charlie and my boy! I couldn't have loved him more if he was 8 or 10 pounds. Just love and enjoy your Yorkie.
